Lately I think and hope I might have come to an important realization in my life; Sometimes you just have to do it. I know this is not big news we all know that you just at times need to do it. But, I come here all the time post often read much of Steve's works trying to absorb much as I can to fight procrastination, low motivation, etc. And in my case I realize I need to stop looking for answers and just do what I know needs to be done. I think myself and many fall into the trap that self-improvement will make everything just fine. Yes, it helps give the tools needed to be a better person, but it is not magicial. I sit and stress on my lack of motivation and try to see what I could do to make it better by looking for outside sources. When all I should be doing is applying what I have learned from here or simply get up and do the work. It kinda reminds me the time an aunt of mine use to complain of all her medical woes. She was always worst off than anyone she even used a scooter to get around. After many many visits to the Dr. He finally said, you want to get better stop using your scooter and start walking, and eating healthy. This came as a shock to my aunt since there can be no way the cure to her problems can be done without meds and requires her to do some work. I think I am at that point. Yes, I will always have much to learn and will still be here asking questions and reading more of how I can improve myself. But, the cure for me is to just get up and do what I know I want to do. I know it will not always be fun but in the end it will be well worth it. So I hope this will be the end of my posting that I do not have any motivation and how can YOU help me. Because I know what I have to do. And my aunt, she switched doctors she just could not accept the answer to be better or not was all up to her. And now her daughter is following the same patterns of complaining of her problems.

Your theory definitely holds true. If you look around at all the self-help and productivity advice in books, seminars, online, etc, they're all just tools to GET YOU MOVING. Why do we visualize? So that we desire to take action! Why do we "swallow the frog?" To take more action! Action = Results. Everything else just helps us in the process of taking action.
