| Hey guys I was on spring break this week and I've been prepping so hard for the SATs next week that I completely forgot I had a latin vocabulary test tomorrow. As a punishment for my lack of responsibility, I have to memorize 250 latin words and their english meaning by tomorrow. Does anybody have any tips or tricks to at least try and accomplish this? So far I've been writing out the words and recording myself reciting them. P.S. If anybody has any tips at all for the SAT, please rant away LOL. |

| Remember to search 'memory' next time in the forum... Suggestions on improving memory/recall... There are two recent threads about that. For your 250 words, associate each word with an image and its meaning with another image and associate them. You may type them on a paper and print them at 25% size too |

| connect each word to an image. the image should define the word... just don't forget the words. i think this would be easier for someone who is unfamiliar with photographic memory to do than using 2 images per word. study like this: 1. study for 20 minutes 2. take a 5-10 minute break doing something that involves little thinking 3. try to recall as much of the information that you learned as you can (i.e. look at a word and try to recall its definition without looking). 4. repeat [keep recalling the same fact in step 3 until you get that fact right 3 different times in a row. after that you wont have to recall it every time you get to step 3 anymore, but just every 5 times you get to step 3, then eventually every 10 times, etc] |

| Don't overdose on caffeine while you're studying. A little may perk you up, but drink a dozen cups of coffee and a couple of 'Big Gulps' worth of Dr. Pepper and you'll find that you 1) start shaking, and 2) experience diminished capacity for concentration and memorizing.
