| Inspired by seeker5, I write down my top 15 goals of the day every morning. These used to be something like Quote:
Quote:
So what do you think, should I set a few more pragmatic goals, even if they don't truly inspire me? Or am I just not being present and disallowing fear enough, and should forget about my worries?

| You know, that's a great question. I've also had a goal of having a relative large sum of money by Dec. 31, 08, and today, for the first time in the four months I've been doing this almost daily, when I wrote that on my goal list, it just didn't feel right. I moved it from number 7 or so down to number 15 and left it there while pending what to do about it. Perhaps, the goal should be "I have created financial abundance in my life so that all my desires and needs are met"? Dunno, just thinking out loud here. Would love to also hear from more experienced people - how to do this as a light worker Last edited by seeker5 : 04-23-2008 at 05:06 PM. Reason: cuz I'm the edit master |

| Rose, I'm totally inspired by the New Top 15 -- are you? The great thing about them is you can be those things right now; they're not someday, somehow thinking. The more day-to-day goals, maybe you could try on thinking of them as signposts that you are being your inspiring ways of being, rather than like a to-do list. I mean: think of the "things and stuff" you want, like a drivers license or to have finished your screenplay, as fun expressions of what you're really up to. For instance, it would be an entirely different sort of screenplay if it were an expression of being peace and harmony, right? Getting your driver's license would be a lot more fun if it were an expression of being courage and freedom, wouldn't it? When your "signposts" are just reflections of what really inspires you -- your ways of being -- then you can see that there is no success or failure, there's no stress in them, just fun -- they're just games you play as you expand more and more into who you really are -- unlimited joy. what do you think? p.s. "disallowing fear" is not exactly inspiring you, is it? Is there a more dynamic and creative way to approach that, that would inspire you? |

| Well, I don't guess there is too much to say to follow Angela's post. Very well said. But I would say that if you are living the goals that inspire you, the other things will naturally follow anyway.

I too have removing fear on my top 15 goals, close to the top, and I've changed how I write it. One iteration has been "I am a courageous man who goes after what he wants". Perhaps you can find the opposite of fear for your situation - perhaps love? Perhaps as "I am only generating love in all areas and circumstances of my life"? |

| Hmmm... I wrote a reply to Angela's post but didn't post it, I wasn't feeling clear about it. As for disallowing fear, it does inspire me a lot. I know goals should be stated in a positive form (yes you said it, seeker

| Yeah, I get what you're saying, that it's fun to notice the fear and then exercise your power to disallow it, right? Interestingly, built into your intention to disallow fear is your equal intention to allow fear, do you see that? Which is fine -- it's the fear game! By the way, if you're walking in a difficult neighborhood and you feel fear, please take the time to listen to the message your fear is giving to you before you disallow it, okay? That sounds like it may be authentic, valuable fear. |

| Living life fearlessly comes to mind, not sure where that falls on the positive/negative scale. Fear does not have to be unwarranted. Sometimes, fear is our intuition telling us to get the hell out of a dangerous situation. When that fear talks to me, it pumps blood to my head and I listen. Really like how your top 15 goals have evolved, Rose! |

| oh no! I wanted to reply to my own post and instead I edited it. Oh man now I'm too lazy to type it all over again

What works for me is not making money itself a goal, but rather the things I need money for - i.e. I need money to keep the house, to buy food, to record a new album. Those things are what is important to me - the money (including what I need to do to acquire it) then becomes just a means to an end. |

| I have the same problem. I like Angela's idea that those "materialistic" (for a lack of better term) goals could be expressions of the "esoteric" goals. Now I only have to tell my family that I want to live my life in a creative and engaging way, not necessarily a safe and secure, but boring way. It's way too airy fairy, and I need something concrete to show them. Some kind of an action plan. Heart based action plan, changing every moment.. |

| My goal with fear is to live each day looking at fear more objectively...the end result is to not fight fear, not disallow fear, but to put fear into perspective...thereby lessening it's impact on my body and mind. It is our internal response to ratchet up fear that really interrupts and causes problems in our life isn't it? Jeff

| Goals are great to make you act in life. To set goals are easy. The important part is to set goals that are big enough(!) and to set goals based on our individual and unique purpose! Goals should be bigger than your fears, your paradigms and conditioned thinking. That´s what so great with goals - they help you grow by erasing those limited beliefs. This is the purpose of goals. Defining one´s purpose in life is not a point itself, but it´s helpful to have when you go further into giving your life a direction! Why is it your goal? Your true purpose in life is your WHY. Your goals are your WHAT. Without your purpose identified firmly in your mind, you will easily wander through life, never quite feeling that you're "in the flow". We all have a unique purpose; that unique set of talents, skills, passions and interests that seem to naturally unfold, simply because they are in resonance with something within us. So how do you discover your unique purpose? One of the first things to determine is what you value the most. Your values represent what is important to you and they indicate what you express on an emotional, mental and spiritual level. When you become aware of your values and find a way to express them through your life, you will feel aligned with your inner driving force. And, for those afraid of anything permanently defined - you are free to change your purpose, and make it even more crystal clear |

| Now I don't even have these "esoteric" goals anymore. I have no goals at all I'm currently working a lot on Eckhart Tolle. I've re-read the Power of Now and begun to read A New Earth yesterday. I'm focusing on being present and observing my pain body when it shows up. All this makes me feel so peaceful and happy that I just don't wish for anything else. Sometimes I get fears. I ask myself what I will eat when I have no money left, or what will happen when I can't stay where I live now anymore, and what will I do without any money?? But then I remember "Aah, this is fear showing up, it's not me. Pain body, I see you!" and I go back to scratching my belly and observing how the sleeping cat breathes. I want to do things in order to contribute, not out of fear. I have a few ideas about what I could do to contribute already, but when I try to implement them without being fully present, I get blocked by some inner resistance and by the fear that I won't make money with that and how will I live then. I don't want to give in to that fear. So for now I just practice being present. Sometimes I get into a state of deeeeeep peace and happiness, when I'm being particularly present and aware. And then, suddenly, out of the blue, I start doing things, taking action. Not because I have set a goal or planned it or anything, no, it just seems to flow out of me naturally. I don't control my body then, I just observe what I'm doing and am amazed at myself. I'm sure when I'm better at being present I won't need to set goals anymore but I will do a lot. Taking action will be intuitive and effortless. I'm not able to stay in such a state very long yet, I'm still oscillating back and forth. But I'm confident that I'll reach that point.
