The other day I asked myself why do I come here (to stevepavlina.com)? Am I wasting my time on this forum? distracting myself from the real world? Am I addicted? Maybe I should delete my profile? Then I started thinking. I joined in Nov 2006, and I was thinking of all the wisdom I gained solely due to this site. Besides Steve and Erins wonderful blog, and the reading I had with Erin, which was really needed, and is still encouraging me and helping me make decisions in my life daily. And all the personal advice Ive gotten here from members Besides all that...I remembered that a) shorty after joining I read here about "The Secret" and watched it online- long before anyone heard about it in my country (now its popular here) With full awareness and intention I manifested really wonderful things after watching this film and Im using my vision board to focus on my dreams. b) Steve mentioned Tolles "The Power of Now" as one of his fav books, I bought the book, and again- it helped me alot, & through this forum again I watched 6 hours hours of Oprah and Tolle, now Im so much more present then I ever was (in my nature I tend to day dream quite alot), its made me calmer, less clumsy and confused and more focued. c)I read here about Byron katie after which I read both her books and am using it in my life, it has really changed the way I am in relationships. especially important ones. d) A week or so ago I also followed a link here, discoved EFT and just got a free 1 hour EFT phone session, which was really amazing! and theres much much more of course... It really amazed me when I thought of all the life changing knowlage Ive gained Just because I come here. so thanks

stevepavlina.com does seem to be the exception among all the whiny, negativity-spewing forums on the net. Even the arguments here are contained and (usually) purposeful. I've been on a slight hiatus lately after an intensive research project that landed me on a forum which was very helpful at first, but basically turned out to be a bunch of autistic people who never leave the house but argue incessantly about inconsequential details. I'm kind of recovering from that now. Forum addiction is still bad, but if you have it, channel it here

I've only been here a short time, but my life has been greatly enhanced by the insights of the members here. I am thankful for this forum.

I come here for a lot of reasons. Not only do I get to feel that I'm helping someone when I answer a question or offer a suggestion, but I also get ideas about what to work on with myself. Sometimes the advice I give is the advice I most need myself, but putting it into words helps me see what I need to do. I enjoy interacting with people that are generally positive, aware, helpful, and growth-oriented. You all are great! I appreciate how freely you share your insights, ideas, struggles, resources, and successes.
