| I think stress reduction (okay I have forgotten the next thing I wanted to say) really! I have. I need help, do you have any suggestions on how to retain/recall items you read, names, quotes or dates... Surprisingly enough, just last week I memorized my new library card number in just one glance, phone numbers I can remember but watch a show and someone says something and 10 minutes later I can't remember the words, title of books or names. Even worse I get up from my living room and by the time I walk across the hall I have forgotten what I got up to do. Any of your suggestions are welcome. Cheers,

Most people dont remember trivial/insignificant things after a few minutes. If however you want to improve your memory, I cant plug highly enough anything from Dominic O'Brian. Really brilliant.

| A few suggestions: 1. Meditate - Simply sit down close your eyes, focus or your breathing and don't let your thoughts drift away. (This will help you to concentrate better, and as a "side effect" your memory will work better) 2. Train your brain to focus on sensory information - Practice noticing the light, the colors, the textures, the shapes, the sounds, etc. 3. Grab Harry Loraynes' book "How to develop a Super Power Memory" for some "tricks" to remember dates, names, etc 4. Check out my sig.

| There is a pretty recent thread about that. Using visual associations seems to be the standard and recognized technique to develop our memory: The Memory Page Memory Master Main Menu |
