I had a long talk with my dean today who told me getting into med school being a doctor should not be the only thing I live for (which I often feel) and I realized I NEED a break from these science classes because: 1. I’m not doing that great in them : bio I and II I received B,C and Physics I: C. and I haven’t taken chem. Or o-chem yet 2. I received an F in one of my classes(History) last semester because I thought I could get a W on it, but the date for that passed and I ended up having an F because of it, but I’ll be taking it next fall and hopefully get an A.I had to leave a semester of classes last year (so all W’s) 3. my gpa is at 3.2 right now 4. I need to get my bipolar disorder managed and treated as you can see the main reason why I need a break is because I feel like my grades are sooo not good enough and the stress is making me go insane (literally) and very depressed. I CONSTANTLY worry about getting into med school every waking minute, and my grades have been taking a big hit for the past 2 years. obviously, this is no way to live I’ve always wanted to major in Psychology, so that is what I’ll be doing…and then I’ll probably go to grad school for Psychology and if I still REALLYREALLY want to become a doctor I’ll probably go to grad school and take the premed requirements. What do you guys think about all this? |

1..2.3 Not important 4. GO! If you work your ass off and don't have good marks, I see 4 possibilities:
a&b. how can you find new ways? c. what are you made for? d. what is it? If you need a break, try Africa (not the north of Africa and not the country South Africa), if you come back, you will never experience stress as you know it, you might even not experience stress ever Try PhotoReading too, I am looking for someone that can tell me it works (someone who doesn't sell it). the first thing everyone says is ..travel! I would absolutely love to however I'm a poor college student who has no money. I honestly have only 300$ in my account as of right now, with a job I only work at once a week, and my parents do not have any money to spare me. is there any other way I can travel without money being a concern?

Do you know why you don't have great marks, though in my point of view it is not VERY important, it is, but not as much as we are told, and why suddenly you want a break? What would you like to find during this break?

| Although, I think it's good to talk about plans and goals... just realize that it doesn't matter what we think about this. Also, this may or may not apply but I found it to be true for me: oftentimes when I set a very high, pinnacle goal, I would usually tell other people about it. Why? Because I knew I would get positive feedback from it (depending on who I told - usually a good friend or family member). The positive feedback was like a pill that made me feel good about my goal. I relied on that feeling to convince myself that the goals were doable but in reality they were just too far out there. Instead, I realized that I needed to set smaller goals and focus on developing skills. |

I knew a LOT of people who gave up being pre-med their first year in college (incidentally, my boyfriend at the time was the only one who didn't, and he's in med school now). When it comes down to it, you have to be ridiculously disciplined, and if you're not doing well and losing passion, well, it's probably not what you ultimately want to do. Which is great! Because you can stop going down that path. Don't think of it as "giving up your dream" because what you're really doing is starting on the path of finding out what your real dream is. Ya know? Good luck! |

Light, there is something that a person needs in order to function at peak condition, and that's balance. You seem like you're trying to reach for your goals and ambitions in a very unbalanced way, and it's hurting you.
