| I am really having issues lately with focusing, more so than usual. I have a hard time working on stuff that "makes money" which keeps me self-employed and puts food on the table. About this time last year, I adopted the GTD method of getting things done, and what I learned from all that, and going through it all, is that the method itself works for me. But, I have constant issues with "detailing" out large projects into small tasks, that seems "hard" to do for some reason. Aside from that aspect, I have a hard time starting new projects, but much easier than completing them. For some reason, my entire life, I get about 80% into a project, then I'm done, I lose interest, don't want to complete it. Ready to go off and start something else. I love being creative, love thinking of new things and testing things out. This has given me a very broad level of technical understanding, which makes me a great consultant. I was diagnosed with ADHD about 4 years ago, and have been on meds for that. I can't go higher in my meds, cause of blood pressure. The meds DO HELP, but at the end of the day, it comes down to me. Plus, I procrastinate horribly. Sadly, even getting "paid" doesn't help me end projects or help with motivation. I seem to hit a brick wall, that I dread dealing with and it happens even on personal/pet projects. I don't make enough to hire a "finisher", probably because I can't finish my own stuff in a timely manner to take on new projects. |

| Perhaps the problem isn't your lack of focus, maybe it's your lack of interest. I know this has been a big determining factor for me. I used to ask myself the same questions you're asking, and I shifted my focus from instead of "what should I do" to "what do I want to do."
