How do you like being a photographer? I just bought my first dslr and I like it alot! However, I'd like to upgrade to one that does decent spot metering - I want to utilize the zone system like Ansel Adams.

Anyway, good job with the goals! I have found that if I can break down the goals into really really small ones - so small that they are incredibly easy to do - then I can eventually get to my end result faster. Focusing on huge tasks often leads to procrastination in my experience.

My version of the March Challenge is really just a continuation of what I'm already doing:
  • Get up between 4am and 5am
  • Do the Morning Pages (described in The Artist's Way)
  • Play horn
  • Listen to the Self Esteem Supercharger or other Paraliminal
  • Continue using the GTD system, which includes making progress on:
    • Doing lots of yard & garden work
    • Building a wooden kayak (make progress, complete eventually)
    • Spending time reading several books
    • Learning to use my new SLR camera
    • Completing several small projects around the house
    • ... and so on.

Thanks to Lucas and dmauder for the GTD inspiration and hacker for the daily paraliminal idea.

Plan ahead and pick up a TV guide. Choose which program you are going to watch for the week. This will hopefully sway you away from temptations of watching other programs on TV.

My goal for 2008 is to focus on one self-improvement project per month. It's been very nice so far:

January: Eat only raw food. Success!
February: Polyphasic sleep. Fail! Simply not for me. Now biphasic.
March: Becoming multi-orgasmic. 3rd day now, already going very well

I am also trying to do a new project each month. I didn't really have something in stone for January.

In Feb I tried polyphasic sleep but kept messing up so I will try that again after:

March 20+ day fast and then move into eating raw foods (maybe a very small amount of other food as a reward if I even feel like it)

Also, I have been doing things like writing down in an excel file everything I do every 15-30 minutes. I really learned a LOT about where I waste my time. So my permanant task is to constantly monitor my time and gradually make changes.

One of my other goals for March is to finish my game framework and complete the game idea I have been brewing for 2 months now.

One of the best things that has helped me more than anything is setting up a task list in Outlook and putting reminders on certain tasks that need to happen each day such as going out and jogging, meditating, writing in my journal etc... Try it!

Umm...a bit unorganized I know but actually ever since I started using Outlook to schedule goals / tasks I have been doing MUCH better.

Hi all,

There are some great ideas on here. Thought I'd join the party and add some of my own.

My goals for March are:
-no hotmail or 'non-relevant internet' at work
-go to the gym at least twice a week
-practice violin at least twice a week (hey, baby steps)

I've been working on increasing my productivity/efficiency at work lately - like others, I've also been keeping an activity log and using it to keep track of downtime (way too much of it!) and when I work best during the day. I've got a long way to go still but at least I'm making progress. Hopefully cutting out hotmail will help.
