| This question is geared towards those who are working fulltime for yourself, no employees, and at home: How do you structure/complement your lifestyle around work? I'm currently working at home by myself for a few game projects that will take 8-10 months to complete. The way I see it, I am giving away 1% of my life to finish those projects. I'm pretty lucky to have a flexible schedule and feel I can make use of that 1% towards something else (maybe teaching kids how to code) to complement work, but confused on where to go and what to do. |

| Sorry, will only bump once, to see if anyone can give this thread some love Some further explanation: Even though my productivity is ok, I find life a drab just working day in and day out. No employees essentially makes socializing nonexistent. Perhaps some people here can relate, I'd like to hear your feedback. Last edited by cardano : 02-27-2008 at 03:36 AM. |

| I basically do the same as Jennihul's husband. I socialise a great deal with friends because I live in the city centre near where they work, however. Besides which, some of them are involved in what I do (in the sense that they're followers of my writing).

| I work like crazy for several weeks, meaning 7 days a week, 9 or 10 or more hours a day. Then I schedule time for myself, such as a week-long trip out of town or a long (4 or 5 day) weekend. I'm also careful to schedule in time to spend with my elderly mother and with my grandson. What it basically works out to is that I work in pretty significant chunks of time and then I have pretty significant chunks of time for leisure. I like NOT being on the five-day-a-week, nine-to-five structured schedule |
