Hello everyone I have a big problem concerning my persistence, and I was hoping you could advice me. I have many goals etc. I want to loose 5 pounds and I want to wake up each day at 06:00 and go out and jog. But I lack the persistence, I can wake up at 6 o'clock for few days and then I'm back in the "normal" routine, so am I being to hard on myself or am I simply being "lazy" ? Thanks, Hlynur |

Are you getting enough sleep? I tried the 6 AM thing and it left me with a poor social life, so I'm switching to 7:30 or 8:00. If you've tried it and it worked well, then it probably is a problem of willpower, but be sure that the rewards are worth what you're giving up. You don't want to be impulsive in making these commitments, only to leave a trail of failure in your wake. |

Perhaps you lack self dicipline or you might need stronger reasons why you should get up at six and jog. Often when someone finds an overwhelming reason for doing something which sits nicely into their ethics, then the hardest task suddely becomes a walk in the park. Example - I struggled for years to limit my coffee intake. I then read up on the downsides to coffee (I couldnt find any upsides) and I gave it up in the blink of an eye. | |
