Lightbulb Irule's Time Managment Log

Ok Guys I was going to wait to hear all of your suggestions about how to give up procrastination (from my other thread) but I really think that I need to stop procrastinating about making this thread to actively start addressing my time management problems.

I will create weekly goals and comment on my daily performance in this thread until it becomes a habit to not waste time

My first two goals for week 1 are

1. Plan my schedule at the beginning of the day
2. do the hardest jobs at the beginning of the day

thank you for your comments and assistance

Wed Feb 6

Ok... today was just terrible, i had a couple of articles to finish typing for work and I kept taking looong breaks before the task, in the task, and after the task. In these breaks I would either go and eat or watch a youtube video.... as predicted I did not finish my task for the day... this is going to be the last day I will tolerate this child play... I will put on a more acceptable performance tomorrow.

I have to remind myself that it is Ok to take a break but only for 10min per 1 hr of hard work or 5min per 30min of work.

it is apparent that the first cycle did not go well becuase I did not log in as usual... I will start another cycle with daily checkups (Sun 10th till 17th)

in which:

1. I will write my daily schecudle the day before or first thing in morning
2. I will create a routine for hard repetitive jobs to get into them faster.

Yes! I'm not the only one who suffers from this!

Just wondering why you're doing hardest-first. Easiest-first is motivating and efficient (so long as you don't make it easiest only). You get to build up confidence and snowball to the big things.

Note: This assumes all things need doing/are important.

Red face IRule's Ending

I noticed that IRule has stopped posting to the thread a few days after starting.

It seems as if hew was unable to adopt the new habit he wanted to create... it reminds me of how hard it is to start new habits in the first place (i.e. the non-addictive ones.)

I know that when I try to change too many habits at once, my being can't handle it, and I have to scale things back and bring in a does of patience.
