| I just wanted to share my personal experiences with the forum family. I recently read Steve's article on being an early riser and also just listened to an audio training on self discipline by Brian Tracy. I decided to combine some of what I learned to improve my productivity. Over the last few days, I have gotten up at least 1 1/2 hour earlier than I normally do. I also write my to-do list before I go to bed every night and I listen to a hynotherapy on inner peace while I sleep. The results: First off. I had no problem waking up earlier even though I have struggled with this in the past. I followed the steps that Steve outlines in his article. Although I woke up a little foggy, I was up and refreshed within a couple of minutes. I had plenty of time to meditate and visualize before my children woke up. Second. I am getting so much done by using my to-do list and priortizing the the things that I need to get done. This is so amazing to me. Just this one little thing (writing it down & crossing things off my list) has brought so much inner peace. The fact that I am up so much earlier and getting so much done makes me feel at peace. I feel good about myself and very joyful. I know a lot of it also has to do with the fact that I allow myself time to meditate and be alone in silence. Just wanted to share this experience. Anyone else out there who have tried something new to increase productivity or inner peace??

| I know what you mean. I used to have what I thought was a very stressful job. I got all my jobs and projects into a list. No more stress. It really was that simple.

Something I discovered several years ago that helps me is spending time in nature. I try to walk/hike/bike several days a week. On the other days I sit outside with a cup of tea in the mornings or a glass of wine in the evenings for at least 30 minutes, more if possible. We have an outdoor fireplace, which makes it pleasant when it's cold. This relaxes me and improves my sleep. I used to make sure my children spent time outdoors when they were growing up. Now I find it works for me as well |
