Default 1 Personal Development Book per week – Week 1 Review

Hi all,

I have just finished reading The Power of Focus by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and Les Hewitt.

Overall I would give the book 9/10. It was absolutely brilliant full of practical, effective advice, inspirational stories and really pertinent information for getting the most out of life.

If I could suggest one book that gives a roadmap to maximising personal effectiveness this would be it. The whole book focuses on showing the reader ways to ensure that they are conducting their lives in the most effective way possible. Each chapter gives fascinating insights into the kind of behaviours and personality traits we must adopt in order to accomplish greatness in life. Throughout the book there are many inspirational stories which give credence to the central tenant that personal change is possible and can have amazing results. The book is also clearly and simply written and is relatively short, 298 pages.

Of course the information in and of itself is useless, it is only by acting on the information that anyone will see personal change. For me personally I have taken several important pieces of information that I intend to implement into my life or am presently implementing.

The most important thing I have taken from this book is this –

‘My habits determine my future’

People, who have been successful in life, have developed successful habits. It’s as simple as that. I was kind of aware of this however the book really made it clear.

I would strongly recommend this book to everyone on the site. The only problem is that there is so much useful information in it , it would take about 6 months to do everything.

For me personally I have picked out the most useful points and will be implementing them into my life.

Happy reading
