Default In the midst of a change.

At the moment, I'm trying to ease into a mindset that accepts subjective reality.

My level of motivation for other areas of my life, such as productivity, seems to be faltering during this change. I believe it's because there's a lot of conflict and resistance in my mind at the moment. My question is this: When you're in the middle of a major shift (especially in terms of your perception of reality), what do you fall back on to get through the confusion?

I would ease back on the major shift in mindset.

Shift back, build up your "bank accounts", use your old ways of doing things to build up reserves you can fall back on, so you won't have an excuse the next time you try a major shift in mindset. Build reserves you can fall back on in all areas of your life.

Make a contract with yourself, the establish the bare minimum you would need to really dive into a major change in mindset.

Give yourself 3 or 4 months to get ready, then dive in, ready or not, and try again.

You fall back on your permanent higher awareness; that essence of you that is expressing itself through your physical being. When you are rooted in that self, change is change around you, not change to you.

The point of accepting subjective reality isn't to mold the universe to your fancy; it is to unstop the flow between the universe and this changeless you. The only way this works is if you allow it to be what it is, and allow you to be what you are. There is inevitably ebb and flow in this; that's okay. Over time, you attune to the universe and the reality you need will manifest.

Every conflict has a parent, and the parent of all conflict is fear. Releasing the fear of what might be if you give up the need to control is the only preparation you can do. Anything more is just stalling.

I seem to go through one of these major changes every couple years. Painful, isn't it?

I find it helpful to do some journaling/writing/meditating/long, thoughtful walks, and find myself again. There are parts of me that have not ever changed: dedication to my husband, desire to grow, love of music. When I sit down and think of these things, and find that these parts of me are just as strong as before, I find renewed sense of direction. I now know who I am again, and those are the things to which I can cling. However weird the world gets, no matter what happens, I am the person who loves my husband. No matter how uncomfortable I am, I am dedicated to growing. It provides constancy when I feel like the world is dissolving and swirling around me.

That, and the knowledge that "This too shall pass".
