Default Doing the best on high school finals?

What's a good way to do it, while not stressing out about them?

At my school we don't have simple multiple choice questions. There's usually a lotta writing involved. And if not, there are still complex questions which involve a certain degree of first understanding the problem, and then the hardest part which is starting the problem and knowing how to solve it. Also in physics, there are a lot of questions which involve rules of physics which we simply do not go over in class. Also in physics, they are even more complex word problems than math, and often it takes me a while to figure out how to start them. Another thing about physics is there are so many questions about the applications of the laws of physics (which we of course do not go over in class, because they are supposed to test how well we know the laws of physics.) This is a problem because my teacher is horrible so I barely understand anything. Lately I just stop listening to him and figure out and understand the concepts myself. That seems to be working when I can force myself to figure out concepts. But before that, I was just saying "**** understanding," I'll just use the formulas and blah blah. But now I realize there are so many questions which are based on understanding laws.

Here are the things I'm doing:
- practicing the types of problems that are on the tests (when possible)
- studying with people who actually study good
- trying to improve attitude by telling myself I am a good writer and I am capable of doing well on exams. it's hard cuz everyone else has such a negative attitude about them.

I'm taking my finals next week too; in my experience, the best way to do well is to study hard the entire week up to finals.

Push yourself hard, but not too hard that you lose sleep. Try to get at least 6 hrs / night.

My biggest worry for tomorrow at history is remembering to talk about everything. We're writing papers about vague topics like World War I. I've heard to narrow it down to a particular part of the subject, but still I'm worried about forgetting details and not saying enough.

I've studied everything but I still don't feel like I can easily put it all on paper. I'm gonna practice writing a paper without looking at my notes to see how I good, maybe if I keep doin that, it'll help.
