Default Managing Difficult/Challenging Cognitive Tasks

I could really use some innovative, strategic advice on this topic.

The problem is that I have ADD which makes organized, systematic learning difficult. My work expands despite the schedules I write because I need to arrive at my nonlinear thoughts that take the form of something like ABTMHGWNC.

My thinking isn't the problem it's my trouble picking up important details, contextualizing information in background information, seeing the larger picture, building a conceptual structure for the information.

Ultimately I'd like to find a better solution for the above than just talking out my paper with friends who have good minds and having the organization come throught the spill of thoughts.

But for now, I'd like to work on containing my work to a manageable input of hours. How can I set this goal if my work takes me too long to achieve, that is how do I max my efficiency and predictability of working (studying)?

Since I am a social science major my studies include: reading, long papers.
