Default when the going gets tough...how do you get going?

hey beautiful people...

I have had a real problem recently with keeping promises to myself..I easily make and easily break.I make a decision then focus in and outta it.

I just started reading my anthony robbins book again,I know this will help

I was just wondering, when your life is being foggy and you are struggling to keep focus...what do you do?How do you keep moving forward?

many thankx

hey! i think what you want to do is set some goals you want to accomplish. think to yourself, what do i want to get out of life? What makes *you happy? For me, procastination is a big thing. If i need to get things done in a certain amount of time, i keep a schedule. Everything that is written on it has to get done and the due date cannot be changed. Sometimes getting into a routine can help to. For example, if i'm trying to exercise more, i'll try and go for run at the same time every day. This way, i'll get use to it and i'll work my day around it. It has to become a regular thing. If you do something one day and then put it off for a few days, it's harder to begin again, especially if its something hard or boring to do. hope this helps!

Knowing I completely deserve whatever goal I've set for myself.

I'll give you a recent example: I struggled with acne for years. It really hurt my self-esteem, and when the doctor suggested birth control for me as a teenager, my father said no, so I had to live with my crushed sense of self. He would rather I hate myself than have me possibly give the image of being a slut.

This made me hesitant to get acne treatment as an adult.

I figured out, just this last month, that I totally deserve a normal youth with backless dresses, etc. So I treated it, and when I showed improvement, wow. I tried on a backless dress in a store the other night and Slamhot Boy said how beautiful and sexy my back was. I couldn't talk for several minutes. Having all those years of shame lifted off me was indescribable. How can I not want to change and better myself when the feeling is so amazing? When I look back at old emotional or mental or physical accomplishments, I can't help but want to relive it.

you know I have just realised that silly me,I think I may have in the back of my mind been doubting that I deserve my dream to come true.
you see, like a good exsample is my weightloss,I would lose 4 inches from my waist, start to feel abundant in energy and then sabotage myself until the weight is back on and then feel realy crappy.

I wonder if theres something bothering me without me realising,I had very abusive parents, maybe something they said or did is stopping me moving forward.who knows...
so this time I am pushing through,Iam believing 110%.

thankx so much for your replies, its lifted me high

I try to keep my goals in perspective. They old saying "Yard by yard it's hard, but inch by inch it's a clinch", has made a difference to me.

Best of luck!

I would agree with the responses so far which seem helpful.

One other thing to try is to give yourself permission to relax sometimes - set aside some specific time to do things you enjoy (as long as not too harmful to your health!) - appreciating the simple pleasures of life when you get the chance may help you to focus better when you need to concentrate on your goals.
