| It seems like whenever I go from A-B, I will eventually end up at A. I know I've been here a couple of times asking for help and a lot of you tried hard to motivate me. It got me to B, but just when I was about to go to C, I would be back at where I started. Some examples: - Procrastination Issues - Sleeping habits - Keeping my room clean - Getting work done - Social Issues The cycle has repeated far too many times and I am getting frustrated. I want to know what I need to do to prevent the same from happening. You might have heard a similar story from others but for me, this particular cycle has probably repeated well over 35 times where I say to myself, I'm motivated and this time it'll work, but ends up flopping. Guys help me =o |

I dont mean to be rude or unhelpful, and ask this question with a view to helping you, but is laziness an issue for you? At the end of the day, you can lead lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink. Something to think about. It might be your core problem. I know it is something all of us have to deal with from time to time in our lives.

| You may be trying to climb too many mountains at once. Try making just one change; keeping your room clean, for instance. Once it's in a state that's relatively organized, it's pretty easy to keep it that way and doesn't really take that much effort. When you've got a handle on that and keeping the room tidy is a habit, then work on something new. If it's oversleeping that's an issue, you may also consider looking at your diet/exercise regime. There's LOT of info on this board and other places online about how a good diet/exercise regime can make differences to your sleep cycle. |

| That could be it. I cringe when I see some of these 30 day plans where people try to go from zero to hero and have 3 zillion things they are going to do overnight. It NEVER works.

| crazlunatic, it looks from your posts like you have developed a habit of "problem" thinking -- you seem to have thought yourself into a maelstrom of problems. Not that whatever is happening for you isn't real -- but you are reinforcing the way they occur for you with your habitual way of thinking, it looks like. For instance, the cycle or tendency you described doesn't exist except as thoughts in your head. That does make them real for you, I'm not saying they're imaginary! But the good news is that another way of thinking could make something else at least equally real, in a way that works better for creating a life you are in love with, as opposed to struggling in. It may seem really hard to break the pattern of your habitual thinking (sometimes it occurs as impossible, because the habit is so ingrained!) but I promise you, you can completely transform the way life is occuring for you by deliberately thinking different thoughts. Those thoughts don't have to be wildly positive, either! Just a slight swing in the direction of your thinking can get momentum going and start you powering towards a life you love. Can you see where that might be so? |
