Default Do It Now - by force?

Hey guys, I was recently reading Brian Kim's "The Secret in Think and Grow Rich" and he made a very good point to me. If we truly have a desire to do something, why would we feel the need to keep telling ourselves "do it now" or "stop procrastinating." If, theoretically, we completely desired the outcome of a certain action, wouldn't we naturally do the work rather than putting it off? Just curious about other's thoughts on this topic.

While theoretically that may sound logical, there are many barriers that (often) come from social conditioning. Say you want to do xxx but society tells you that it is unrealistic and a waste of time and energy. Consequently, one doesn't want to become a fool and sits on the fence, waiting to garner evidence and support before taking action.

(which doesn't work out of course, because experiencing things yourself is probably the only way you can ever truly convince yourself what is realistic and what is not)

The issue comes about when we look at the difference between wanting the outcome of a certain action vs. actually doing what it will take to attain that outcome. Here's a recent debate that I took part in where we discussed this very topic.
