Default Blocking websites to avoid timewasting

Anyone know of a system that can prevent access to certain websites which are pure timewasters?

I just add entries to the 'host' file (where it is depends on what operating system you're using; under Linux, which I use, it's /etc/hosts, but if you use something else, google should help), resolving sites I don't want to visit to localhost. It's easy to undo, but definitely cuts down on the time I spend checking things like slashdot when I'd be better off resting.

C'mon. It's simple, don't go to them. Show a little discipline.

The easiest way to break a finger-habit is to keep yourself from it in some way, or so I find. Discipline is easier after an initial step of this sort.

Remove links ot certain websites. If you've got firefox (if not, get it), download Greasemonkey(add-on). There is a site block script, and you can define your times, dunno what its called but google it. So download firefox, greasemonkey and that script.
