If you don't believe that you can change things, then things won't change. I suggest that you may want to list the things in your life that are going well. Force yourself to list as many as possible. Talk about how you want things to be, not as you think they are.

Well, if you tell yourself you can't,then you definitely cannot. It's alright to feel blue, self-pity and get de-motivated. But if you continue to be in that state, then it's sad. Up to a certain point, you really must sit back (or take a long walk on a quiet path) and start reflecting on the value of life. You just have to look at the rights instead of the few wrongs, then pick yourself up. Perhaps develop a vision for yourself, and work out goals to achieve your vision.... ya? JT

Hey ultimate, Don't feel like you are alone at this. We've all been there, and I personally have some self-doubt from time to time. It is normal, but you want to realize that you are capable of much more than being blue and feeling like a victim. Look within yourself and you will find the courage to create your own happiness. You deserve happiness, and personal vulnerability is just an illusion. Life really is great if you consciously open to it. I find Steve's advice great to get me motivated -- set goals in your life that really scare you. Think about something that you are really passionate about and would like to accomplish, and believe that you can reach it. Working toward such goals really fires me up and gets me going. Good luck!
