David Brooks' Free Presentation in Las Vegas 3-5pm July 1st

David Brooks, the 1990 World Champion of Public Speaking, is giving a free presentation today in Las Vegas. Erin and I will both be there, and if you happen to be in the area, you're welcome to attend as our guests.

At first I thought this event was for Toastmasters only -- it was by invitation only and required an RSVP in advance -- but I just got an email this morning saying the theater is big enough to hold anyone who wants to attend. So if you want to get in, just show up by 3pm. It's in NW Las Vegas.

I saw David Brooks speak 3 years ago in Reno, and he was very good and very funny. If you're interested in learning about professional speaking or just improving your presentation skills and can make it to today's talk, I'm sure it will be worth your time.

Most likely there will be dozens of local Toastmasters attending, if not a few hundred. I know many members from my Toastmasters' club, Powerhouse Pros, will be there.

Typically these Toastmasters presentations are rich in practical ideas and entertainment value, especially when the speaker is very experienced. While David may sell some of his info products after his presentation, to my knowledge this isn't a teaser presentation like you might see when a "free seminar" is promoted elsewhere. Toastmasters has a pretty strong ethic of offering a lot of value for free.

If you do manage to attend, please say hi to Erin and me. Erin will be easy to spot, since she has red hair with a blond stripe. Toastmasters members tend to be very social and welcoming of guests, so don't be shy about introducing yourself to anyone you bump into.
