Hi Everyone, I'm Stewart and this is my first post. I am seriously into Personal Development and Changing my life. I started out on the Personal Development path 20 years ago by doing a course called Alpha Dynamics in 1987. I've done many Personal Development Seminars since and read heaps of books. I have changed and I'm still changing but the process is slow. The thing missing to speed up the process is mixing with like minded people on a consistent basis and having their support. So I'm establishing a Support Group(s) in the Gold Coast / Brisbane / Sunshine Coast Region (I live in Upper Coomera which is the northern end of the Gold Coast.) What do I mean by a support Group(s)..... “A group of people who are on the Personal Development path who mutually support each other in Developing, Changing and meeting Personal Goals” .....some people call then “Mastermind Groups” ...... Cheryl Richardson calls them “Life Make Over Groups” Cheryl Richardson and Barbara Sher calls them “Success Teams” Barbara Sher's Official Website I see the group(s) being 5 to 10 people who are committed to making positive changes in their lives ...... meeting once a week at a mutually agreeable time and location. The meetings will be a combination of an initial structured session for say 90 minutes formally helping each other with achieving our individual goals ..... and after that .... socialising for another hour or so. May be we could meet in a restaurant that has a private meeting room for the structured session ...... then dine and socialise in the restaurant afterwards. I know some restaurants have rooms like this and will make them available free of charge if they know some of the members are going to eat afterwards. For the structured time each week, someone brings along a Personal Development DVD, CD or tape such as “The Secret”, one of Steve Pavilna audios or any thing else that may be of interest to the group... we listen to it (or part of it ... if it is long like “The Secret”), and then discuss it. I see this taking about 45 minutes. For the other 45 minutes we go around the group with each person taking 5 to 10 minutes outlining the goals they currently have, where they are up to in achieving them and any problems they are having ... The group then offering any help and suggestions they can. The help the other group member offer may take the form of assisting in clear thinking, releasing an emotional block, planning on how to go about achieving the goal .....or maybe helping in some physical way, like introducing the person who needs help to a contact that can help them ... whatever the person needs and whatever the other members of the group know or have that can help. The underlying philosophy of the group(s) is that we all have life experience skills and some wisdom to offer .... no matter who we are ......what our lives have been up until now or what we have done ..... and with that wisdom we can help others and their wisdom can help us. The main personal characteristics of being a part of the group is an open mind, a preparedness to be involved .... experiment with new ideas and to change. (If what you have been thinking and doing up until now is working for you ...... then you don't need to change or be part of a group like us.) When it comes to people helping each other to achieve their goals, the amount that can be achieved is multiplied enormously with “One and One equaling Eleven .... NOT Two” ...... so how much does Five to Ten people helping each other equal ....... well lets find out. It will be free to participate with the only cost being your own personal dinning expenses if you stay for the socialising. I'm happy to facilitate the first couple of meetings to get things going, but then the facilitators role can rotate between any other members in the group who want to chair the meetings, or ...... I'm happy to continue in the role if no one else wants to do it.. So if you live in the area and are interested in being a member of the group(s) then either email me at StewartC@westnet.com.au giving me your: 1.Preferred times to meet, Day, Evening Weekends etc. (Please be as flexible as possible here as it will make it easier for me to find a time that suits everyone) 2.What area you live in ? 3.How far you are prepared to travel to the meetings ? 4.A contact number ? 5.Any Personal Development Material i.e. DVD's CD's or tapes you could bring along ? 6.Any particular skills you have in the Personal Development area you could offer to the group ? 7.Any particular goal you are stuck with that you want the group to help you with ? Or telephone me on (07) 5573 4261 and we can discuss it. Have a fantastic day Stewart |

Hey Stewart Wow - that passion and COMpassion leaps from the page. I AM in SEQ but family/work/life loves make meeting weekly unlikely but I yearn for something online - perhaps something is possible right here? Will tell you one day why I just had to answer your post - my second one here after my intro..talk about LOA. Cheers Saffy |
