I was born there (Denver Childrens' Hospital, actually) but moved south for my childhood and then further south for college. But at least I can get on I-25 at southern terminus (aka Las Cruces) and drive north for 9 hours to visit my birthplace. Sounds like something I should try. Haven't visited since '03... |

Hello, I am 21 year old male moving to Denver in July and was wondering if there is a group that meets here locally? Also, if anyone has any advice where to live, that would be great too. My work is located at I-70 & I-225, but commute isn't a big deal for me (aka, just not Boulder). I'm single and am interested in a younger crowd, prefereably near a pub crawl area, as I like to have fun, but am not a partier Thanks! |

I live south of Denver here. I do not know of any meet up groups, but maybe can offer a couple notes on living spots. I live in the suburbs and am far from the pub crawl scene, but I quizzed a couple young coworkers who hang out downtown and such. Living in the DU area might make your commute a bit long, your better bet might be closer to downtown. Both for the scene and the drive. Couple areas around downtown that are nice are the Highlands area north of the city (newer, lots of lofts), and Capitol Hill (older area). I would say rent for a single bedroom around the downtown area is probably going to run you about 800-1000 a month. You might be able to get a bit further outside of downtown, or go for a studio and get that down. One person mentioned Uptown Square near downtown (apartment complex I believe), as being a very young social crowd, but sounded like it could be a serious party scene though. One area that is great for location between downtown and your work, is a newer development called Stapleton, BUT, I would say that tends to be more a 'couples' crowd. Its nice if you want something quieter but new, but again, more the newly married versus the singles crowd. Best of luck on your move!!! |

Hello Michelle! Welcome to the big CO. Where did you happen to move from? I live south of Denver in Castle Rock, but get up to Boulder now and again as my brother lives in Louisville. I really like Boulder's location up against the flat irons, great views..... oh, and wish I could have a few of the natural food restaurants that you have! Hope you are finding CO to your liking |

I recently moved from Switzerland (am a US native, but lived overseas for many years) and am currently living with my boyfriend in - *drum roll please* - Louisville! I am loving the clean Colorado air and energy and yep, the food is really good. If you are ever coming up my way and fancy meeting at the local Starbucks or so, please let me know. | |

Hello Chris! Michelle doesn't live too far from you, I live just south of Denver. We should get together for tea and coffee one day! I don't mind driving up north, I can make a stop and say hi to my brother. (By the way, odd thing.....I saw your 'Inspiration of the Day' on the lower left side of your website.....hrmmm, I just saw a clip on that yesterday. Interesting timing.) |

EMeadow - Funny how synchronicity works, isn't it? Michelle - Yes we're practically neighbors! I haven't been to Switzerland in awhile, but loved it when I was there. Both of you - I'm up for a gathering around here. One of my favorite places is the Dushanbe Teahouse in Boulder (esp their chai!), but am open for other places too. My contact info is on my site whenever you would like to gather! Dushanbe on this Sat or Sunday? Last edited by ChrisL; 04-16-2010 at 08:19 PM. |
