Good to see nz represented here nice and strong. I had watched that free hug video and was inspired to do something like that, but am now chickening out. Good to know who on the forum are local. Choice Bro!

Che, bro.. 'its all good. The free hug thing where you just go and molest people in public?

I dunno. I have to be either drunk or in the right mood. Dare any of the fellow kiwis here to do this in Manners Mall Wellington on a Friday night...

Nah. Not as mental as that. Surely there are more kiwis here?

Cheers,

Jenny.

We may have to test you for your Kiwiness first lol:

Who said "o" for "awesome"?

What does "bring a plate" really mean?

Can you speak fairly good kiwi, and do you freely share kiwi-isms like, "Choice bro", "ka pai" and so on?

Can you drive a manual right hand drive car and do you understand the right hand rule?

Pleased to see you're living in the best city in the country Ted, so that gives you like, 9 out of 10 already!!!

Cheers,

Jenny.

That was David Tua, right? But that's so universal I'm not sure of knowing makes me more or less kiwi.

Quote:

In my case brigadeiros for a dessert, maybe some kind of falafel dish for something more substantial. I like small round foods.

Everyone here thinks I'm Irish. Unless I'm deliberately trying to sound American. Then they all assume I'm from Canada. All in all, I'm sort of kiwi-lite. Maybe another year or so here would change that.

Come to think of it, I haven't driven since I got here. I never did learn to drive stick, though. My parents' ridiculously massive cars were hard enough to figure out on automatic.

I think I dropped to about a seven. At least I'm still an honorary black guy.

Hey! You pass really well the fact you know it's David Tua and you live in the CORRECT city is such a bonus Kia ora, bro'

Driving "stick"? Honey: you have to call it manual, else the brothers will laugh at you, man

So: You got David Tua, you know "bring a plate" means bring food (and your food sounds real good!), you sound like your accent may pass for someone from Gore (in the deep south) so 'tis all good, and honorary black guy? I don't care what colour you are: just wanna know how Kiwi you are at heart

Keep up the good work! You're definitely a 9+ I reckon!

Cheers, (bro)

Mate! it's still freakin' cold here! I cannot believe this. We had no rain today but I had my winter jacket on today going to work.. arrggghhh !

Where can I go that's quite nice and warm, not too hot, you can be in the sun, and it's not too humid? (I don't mind being hot and sticky, but there is a time and place for it and ALL the time is neither!)... ?

Cheers,

Jenny.

Aw, you just need the right crowd. Auckland is full of wonderful people. (Of course, so is Wellington, you just need a much bigger winter wardrobe there.)

Do you sell at the Riverbank markets in LH? I think it's supposed to not be so nice this weekend I have wedding to go to on Friday and it's not looking promising weather-wise.

Have to admit it did warm up just a wee touch in Welly city today.. but not a lot! The Hutt valley is always warmer.

Cheers,

Jenny.

Nice save.. nice save lol Yeah. You're right. Wellingtonians specialise in winter wardrobes. NOT that the teen community would know that.. crikey: the stuff the young girls wear in winter - maybe they don't feel the cold Lovely being young!

That's probably because half of Nelson is now living in Wellington!
I grew up in Nelson, the climate is amazing. Every time I am in Welly I run into former Nelsonians - both cities definitely have a similar vibe.

The Kiwi Weather Gods are really in a tizz this summer. 'tis not on.

Maybe we need to try and manifest better weather Any ideas on how we achieve THAT?

Come on, I'm trying to start a flame war here!

But yeah, I kinda know what you mean about Auckland being soulless. I used to really hate it, and only stayed because of various attachments, but I feel much better about it these days, been making more of an effort to enjoy it.

I like the anonymity of big cities but Auckland doesn't have a centre and doesn't seem exactly like a big city being so spread..

Default Sevens in Wellington

If anyone in Wellington wants to meet up for Sevens Weekend, just look for a guy in a yellow jacket with a big sign that says "Brazil". Yes, I know there's no Brazilian team competing. I was going to root for Kenya but it's funnier this way.
