Yes! And funny you should put it that way. I once bought the domain playgroundearth.com to write about it.

I'm in! I definitely feel like the whole planet is my playground.

I was born in France, lived there then in Germany for eight years, came back to France and now I'm preparing my next emigration, which will be either Netherlands or Norway. I also want to spend a few years somewhere in South America, a few years in an English speaking country, and a few years in Russia. And probably in a few more countries.

That's probably more than I've managed to do. But I have travelling stories to tell in person, so those are fun.

Netherlands are awesome! People there are so friendly (and i have somewhat of a basic tourist knowledge of dutch so it made them even happier to see me at least try to talk to them in their language). Haven't been to Norway but heard great things about it.
South America! I soooo want to go there, i want to see Macchu Pichu before i die. I've been vicariously traveling through South America, my husband spent six months exploring it bottom to top (before we met) and has hundreds and hundreds of slides that i have been watching them a few times.

Especially when you meet someone who has been to the same places or come from those places...it's like you're bumped back in time with all the details...and all the smells...good and bad

Norway is totally wonderful! I just spent a month there and came back totally in love with the country and wanting to live there.

As for the Netherlands, I agree! I've been there several times already and I just love it there. The first time I went, I came out of the station in Den Haag, saw the city, smelled the wonderful air, and thought "I wanna live here!!!". People are very friendly indeed, provided I speak any language but German. If I do, they hate me and try to kill me with their bikes. I don't speak any Dutch at all, but it doesn't matter. Once I pretended to be Dutch and had a whole conversation with a guy using only the words "ja" and "nee" and a big innocent smile.

I don't know yet if I will go to the Netherlands or to Norway....

Absolutely! I've lived in France as well as the US. Within the US I've lived in several different states starting from the east coast and now I'm in Nevada. Next I'm feeling a pull toward New Zealand and I'd love to eventually live in different Asian and European countries.

I can't imagine settling in any one place for now.

One more for the group. I've lived in Uruguay(where I was born) for 9 years and then 6 years here in Spain. I'm going to spend the next two years in England. I've been for short periods(aka holidays ) in France and Argentina.

Just a question, I've searched the group name on the groups page but no results were found. Anyone can help me please? :P

Haha, once you catch the travel bug... which group were you looking for? Have you tried a general search on the whole forum?

One time, riding my motorcycle alone through rural Honduras, in the middle of the night (as one does), I saw a storm on the horizon. So I .. rode right into it. Turned out it was one of these badass tropical storms. I had no idea what "tropical storm" meant until I was right smack in the middle of one, on a deserted highway in the middle of some jungle mountains. Did I mention I was on a motorcycle? I was in full leathers, but soaked right through. The lightning flashed literally every 2-3 seconds.

Then I found a little town, with one gas station, and all the electricity out in the entire town. They only had electricity on some days. Anyways, thankfully there was a pleasant hotel owned by some locals, and they had covered parking for my bike, so it would be dry in the morning. I walked in and they gave me a candle to light my way to my room. There was a shared bathing area with a big vat of water, and a small bucket for scooping it onto yourself. I washed up and found my way back to my room. To my surprise, that one lone candle had warmed up the room while I bathed.

I woke up in the middle of the night, and it was SO pitch black that for a minute I couldn't remember where I was. I literally couldn't see a thing. I slept deliciously well that night.
