Default Conscious Growth House

I want to start a house filled with people on the same mission in life... Conscious Growth. I am 23 and just graduated college, I want to start my life with like-minded people around me. Anyone down to start a Pavlina House? I was thinking 4-5 young guys on the same path. We want to carve out our OWN path in this world. If this sounds exciting to you too send a message! C'mon, let's do it!!!!!

We have an empty 4-bedroom house in Vegas we're planning to rent out (2080 sq ft). So hmmmm....

So a Pavlina house, owned by Steve Pavlina. Fate? Divine Cosmic Intervention? My Intentions Coming to Being?

Hey Steve, I am already sold. Let everyone know if you are serious, and you will have a list out of the country.

I've often thought it would be cool to do something special with that house, like inviting a small group of people to live there and work on conscious growth together. Maybe produce some videos with weekly progress updates.

I'm open to possibilities, but I don't have the capacity to seriously consider anything till after the workshop.

This type of thing is often offered to artists over here. Usually there is some kind of competition or application process and then the artist gets free use of a house or apartment in an inspiring place where they can focus on their work without being pressured to pay rent. These places exist all over the world. The Swiss government has a couple places in NY, Paris, Egypt and the Alps.

Exactly! It would be easy to facilitate growth if you are surrounded by others that are growing all day. Plus, how cool would it be to bounce ideas off of each other, have a live-in personal accountability group, and be able to tackle challenges together.

If anyone else is interested, PM or email me!

By the way, nice website - I never knew oversleeping might be causing me headaches!

I'm starting to like this idea more and more!

I'm also imagining lots of raw meals, disc golf, Toastmasters, and of course, a weekly screening of The Princess Bride!

What do you do if you move in together and then realize that you don't really like one or two of your housemates? Do you throw them out or do you look at it as a PD challenge? What if one of you is going through "a phase" which changes the whole dynamic of the house. Could you deal? What if one of you decides to do some inner work concerning personal motivation, decides never to take another action which doesn't feel "inspired from within" which results in dishes piling up for weeks? What if one of you decides to embark on a polyamoury experiment and invites a new girl over each night? What if it is more than girls? What if one of you is an early riser and needs to do yoga at 4am while the other stays up all night long and wants to sleep in? What if one of you is raw vegan and the other a flaming carnivore? What if one of you wants to get rid of your job? Do you let them mooch while they figure it out? What if one of you decides to join the No Shampoo Movement (or soap, or toothpaste or...)?

If you can be inspired by contrast - more power to you. Most people would not be.

Perhaps it would help clarifying what you really want? The universe will deliver in every case.

There are even ways to have the best of both worlds. During my studies, for example, I lived in a house with 3 other musicians. The house had 4 apartments and we each had our own but could meet if and whenever we wanted.

People's differences are what makes socialising so great in the first place. If everyone had the same opinions, agreed with everything you said and got along perfectly with you all the time, you wouldn't gain any personal growth from socialising.

I've lived with many different people, all with different ideals, religions, ethics and interests. While some people have been more challenging to get along with than others, I've benefited hugely from living with each and every one of them.

While there needs to be some common ground to establish a relationship, it's understanding the differences that provides you with the best opportunities for personal growth.

Three months ago I would have loved this idea and would be totally up for it (esp. since I already live in Las Vegas).

But now, having finally tasted the very sweet and wonderful fruit of living alone, I don't know if I'm ready to go back to living with roomates!

This sounds like a good reality TV show to me. With an hour or two per week for you to lecture and direct and others as "coaches" this could provide value to the participants and to viewers or be released as a DVD at a reasonable cost to show people the principals of your philosophy in action.

I encourage ALL different kinds of people to join the Conscious Growth house and pursue every possible avenue of growth. Whatever weird idea you have, do it, that's how this type of thing is going to be successful and fun.

I think being messy or loud could be an area of growth. In terms of limits, just don't mess up roommates growth and I think everything will be smooth.

I am looking at moving to the San Diego/LA area in November/December. So get money saved up and we can start this thing. I'll update as I go along, but if you are really interested PM me your email and I'll keep in contact. And I'm still open to the idea of Steve's old house if that works out.

Eric

PS - the workshop was pretty sweet, I definitely recommend going to the next one if you missed out.

Hey guys, COUNT ME IN for the growth house! I think it's an AWESOME idea, even just for, say, 30 days of immersion in that kind of environment, that's enough time to break your old habits and form new ones.

Default CGH Denver

Have any of you ever read The Game by Neil Strauss? The idea of a conscious growth house sounds really similar to Project Hollywood, just without the whole teaching men to become pickup artists routine. Sounds fantastic!! I really like Michelle's idea of having your own space to live, but with a community room where everyone can get together. I think this is something that could be really great!, and why limit it to just one house? We could take the country by storm and establish one in a every major metropolitan area in the United States and many countries overseas. There are enough individuals on this forum from every walk of life to make it possible.

Anyway, I would be ready to start a house in January. If anyone is interested in conscious living in the Denver area, send me a PM or let me know!

Feels like Project Mayhem from Fight Club, but with a less anarchistic purpose. Of course, I suppose I would say that...

Smile Not just Vegas...

You know, if there's more than 4 people interested we should start more than one house. It doesn't need to be just Vegas either.

UK, Australia, China? There's lots of options.

I'm very interested in this. If you're reading this and want a positive, friendly housemate with frugal tendencies, let me know.

I'm in Japan right now, but planning to be in the UK from April to start another home-based company.

So, I think the idea of a conscious growth house should be revisited.

*bump*

... what do people think of a handful of interested people renting a house together for, say... a month? I think it sounds like a grand idea.

Thoughts?
