Who here has met steve?

Thread title.

What was your experience with him like?

Angela 07-24-2008 08:10 PM

I have. He had a halo of brilliant white light completely surrounding his body, and I found that eye contact was impossible without searing my retinas. When he spoke, the ground shook beneath my feet, and the smoothie he bought me tasted like ambrosia. After I left him, I won $30 gambling and my boyfriend suggested we go shoe shopping at Manolo Blahnick's. It was a miracle.

Swannie 07-24-2008 08:18 PM

Hehehe. Sounds like my sort of messiah... um... I mean guy :-) Haven't met him. Maybe when he next visits the UK.

Dannyboy1 07-24-2008 08:46 PM

Are you sure...

Are you sure you didn't meet an electric eel while eating honey that shocked you and screwed up your memory and your taste buds? :p

There you go! Steve is, in fact, an electric eel who fed me honey, now that you mention it.

I did at the NY meetup.

Adding to the Steve fawning, his eyes are are an intense blue, AND he's taller than you think. :D

Angela 07-24-2008 11:10 PM

Yeah, Steve's tall, and Erin's really tall, too. They towered over me, and I've always felt pretty tall. They're like some super-amazon race all their own. I am afraid to meet their kids.

You know, really, though, Steve in person is just like he is in his writing. You would recognize his "voice" -- he talks like he writes. Erin, too, except that she has a little 3-second warning in her speech that you don't hear in her writing -- she sort of turns her head up a little as she considers what she's going to say and then comes out with it. She's also very relatable, like seeing your best pal from high school and the connection is still there. Steve, to me, felt slightly more ... what's the word.... alien! :) Nahhh, what I mean is: he seems like his thought processes are more, oh, science, analytical, battlestar gallactica, left-brain than mine.

I wasn't quite myself the day I met them, though, so my perspective may have been a little skewed.

Really? How tall are you?

lololol :D :D Angela you're hilarious, I'm sitting here laughing really loudly now. You should write humorous speeches :)

Angela 07-25-2008 01:10 AM

What, you think I'm kidding?

okay, maybe that halo wasn't all that bright, but I really did win the $30 and get taken shoe shopping. Does it get any better than that? ;)

Rose of Cairo 07-25-2008 01:15 AM

I'm sure the facts are correct Angela. It's the way you describe them, and this little last sentence. Priceless :)

Savage 07-25-2008 01:21 AM

I'm 6'0" and Erin is 5'9", so we aren't exactly Amazons. :)

We offered Angela the red pill, but she declined to swallow it, opting for an orange smoothie instead.

Confidence adds inches, and unconfidence takes them away. I'm 6'4" and you felt taller than me. I was nervous that day but, it's always funny when you meet someone in person, that you know online.

Savage 07-25-2008 01:50 AM

If you met me in NYC, I definitely wasn't at my best because I had a bad cold on the day of the meetup. :(

Interestingly, I haven't gotten sick once after switching to an all raw diet, although the rest of my family has had colds.

Adelina 07-25-2008 07:35 AM

Why doesn't the rest of the family switch to raw diet?

You can all be on the same wavelength,
and be a family of superpowers.

Erin Pavlina 07-25-2008 12:42 PM

We've had really mild colds, nothing serious.

I used to consider myself tall but teenage girls nowadays are often taller than me. I used to be the tallest girl in my class growing up but alas, evolution is changing that.

I met Steve once. I found him to be quite snuggly. ;)

Yeah! I've been meeting a lot of tall females lately, too. What's up with that? Symbolize growth?

p.s.: Haven't met Steve yet. A friend of mine has had some curious dreams though, showing that we might run into him in our travels!

So when you aren't sick and eating the raw diet, you're Tony Robbins? :p

Angela 07-25-2008 01:36 PM

The height thing.... there are very few people who stand tall and upright, so when you come across two of them, hanging out together, they feel very grand.

Most people are sort of collapsed or slumped. Even in Los Angeles, where I'd think everyone would want stand up! (Many of the movie stars I've seen or met here are shrunken little characters; it's very surprising to meet an action super-hero who barely reaches your chin.)

I've only "met" movie stars at Madame Tussauds, but since the wax figures are accurate in terms of size, it was funny for once to be taller than many of the "people" there! I hadn't realised that so many of them were so small.

Some of the tallest people I've ever met have been short people. ;)

Dannyboy1 07-25-2008 05:39 PM

Yep

Especially when they're standing on chairs! :p

Angela 07-25-2008 05:48 PM

They are even taller when stand on their principles.

Dannyboy1 07-25-2008 05:52 PM

And even taller

Dannyboy1 07-25-2008 06:27 PM

Woops

I hope everyone understood I'm being silly and a little loopy today... I wasn't trying to make fun of anyone. I'm sorry if anyone was bothered by my jokeyness... :(
