Hard to give you advice only knowing your location as "Chez Gonzo's Hideaway" (as registered here on the forum). I assume you are in the US. Are you? I don't know your situation either, but if you depend on a job, you MUST (MUST MUST MUST MUST) understand, speak, read and write Spanish well enough unless you want some below the minumum wage job.

It might be different, if you are a high level executive, specialist, expert, .... But you still need get a job. Right?

And I also assume that you have been in Valencia before, haven't you? Otherwise why would you move there.
You are talking about residence. That means you will a VISA that you need to apply .....

I only have that because I'm currently "drifting". Today I'm in France, next week, Algeria, after that...Spain? Sweden...?? Most of my belongings are in storage in Finland. I have a job based in Finland, so I don't need to get one. I only need a good and reliable Internet connection.

I've never been anywhere in Spain except Alicante and only for a few hours.

Indeed...frankly, I can't figure out why I would move anywhere, or why I wouldn't move anywhere. I have to be somewhere...(oh, so no, I've never been in Valencia, but before I came where I am now, I had never been here before either )

Hi everyone:

I decided to join and let you all from Spain know that there's a fan of Steve's web in Alicante. I discovered the web very recently and I'm still spending a lot of time digesting the materials posted here. They have certainly turned out to be the answer to many of the questions I've had for a long time!

I know in the future it would be interesting to know that I can get together with somebody nearby (if possible in Alicante) to talk about our personal findings and progress on all these issues.
