Default Ask and It Is Given: 30 Days to Success

Following along with Steve's idea of the 30 days to success to develop new habits, at the beginning of September I'm going to start a 30 day event to practice the processes featured in the book Ask and It Is Given.

For more information on the book, see these links:
Ask and It Is Given: Overview

Ask and It Is Given: Establishing the Foundation

Ask and It Is Given: Harnessing Source Energy

Ask and It Is Given: 22 Processes for Success with the Law of Attraction

Ask and It Is Given: Final Thoughts

I know there are fans of Ask and It is Given who read the forums, and everybody is welcome to join. This book is uniquely suited to the 30 day framework, because it has 22 processes designed to help a person become better at working with the Law of Attraction and getting what they want. While some may see these 22 processes as 22 different habits, they are all components of one habit: gaining skill with the Law of Attraction.

At the beginning of September, I will post a new process each day for 22 days. (I will paraphrase and give a summary of each process so as not to violate any copyrights, so it may help if you have access to the book or audiobook.) Then, there will be about a week left to put all the processes into practice.

Here is a complete list of the processes:
Process #1: The Rampage of Appreciation
Process #2: The Magical Creation Box
Process #3: The Creative Workshop
Process #4: Virtual Reality
Process #5: The Prosperity Game
Process #6: The Process of Meditation
Process #7: Evaluating Dreams
Process #8: The Book of Positive Aspects
Process #9: Scripting
Process #10: The Place Mat Process
Process #11: Segment Intending
Process #12: Wouldn't It Be Nice If . . . ?
Process #13: Which Thought Feels Better?
Process #14: The Process of Clearing Clutter for Clarity
Process #15: The Wallet Process
Process #16: Pivoting
Process #17: The Focus Wheel Process
Process #18: Finding the Feeling-Place
Process #19: Releasing Resistance to Become Free of Debt
Process #20: Turning It Over to the Manager
Process #21: Reclaiming One's Natural State of Health
Process #22: Moving Up the Emotional Scale

Since the processes are listed according to what level of the emotional scale someone is on, I will start with the most basic one: #22 - Moving Up the Emotional Scale.

That's a great idea, Zukin!

I haven't read Ask and it is Given, I've read only A new Beginning, but I'm very enthusiastic about the book and want to do the practical exercises there anyway. So I'd be glad to join you I'll read Ask and it is Given too.

Are you sure one process a day is not too much? Don't you think we will need to practice a lot before being ready for the next process?

Hi Rose, thank you for joining! I'm going to be trying to master the processes fairly quickly since I am familiar with the material and have already been experimenting with the Law of Attraction on and off for the past few months.

Each day I will create a separate thread for the individual process, so people can follow along at their own pace. In fact, each process works best when an individual is at a certain emotional state, so people will most likely refer back to different processes at different times anyway.

I have also found that each of the 22 processes is useful depending on your emotional state and what you're thinking about, but maybe going through one per day would be a good way to just familiarize yourself with them so you'll have the skill at your fingertips when you want to really apply them.

Best wishes in your 30-day project!!

Default A question and a thought

Zukin, I think you've got a great idea, and I'd like to see you succeed; it also struck me that you might have one of two underlying goals, and that the optimal approach for each is probably different.

Could you please help me understand if your goal to introduce a wider audience to the book, or if it's to really leverage the principles of the book to achieve a particular goal of yours?

If it's the latter, maybe you could apply one or two of the principles consistently for a month--rather than cycle through all of them in the same time frame? My feeling from reading the book was that a rapid cycle through all the processes wouldn't yield nearly as much benefit as concentrating on just a few over a long period of time... especially since that at any given moment, a number of the processes almost certainly will not apply!

(...Sorry, this is just the academic side of me, considering experiment design and the null hypothesis...)

Hi Jason S - thank you for your input. This 30 day event presupposes a few things:
1. The Law of Attraction works.
2. Working with the Law of Attraction to get what you want is a learnable skill. See the posts by Acting Like Godot here and here.
3. The way you get what you want via the Law of Attraction is by creating positive emotions & thinking about your goals and visualizing them as already having been achieved. Then, whatever you want will start appearing in your life. If action is involved, it will feel natural and enjoyable (not like hard work).

I think the processes are mainly exercises to get yourself into a state where you are feeling positive and thinking about your goals. They are fun activities, not absolutes, like "you must do the rage of appreciation at 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM every day!" Also, like you said, not all processes will apply at all times. The key is to use the ones that elevate your emotional state and help you focus on what you want to attract into your life.

I already have a list of goals that I will be focusing on and I may not use all of the processes all of the time. However, I will be talking about all of them to introduce everyone to the ones that might help them.

So in response to your question, this 30 day event is going to serve two purposes:
1. I am going to be improving my skill with the help of the all the processes in the book Ask and It is Given to keep my mind focused on what I want, paying special attention to the individual process that I talk about each day.
2. While I'm doing that, I will be introducing everybody to the processes featured in the book.

This may deviate from other approaches to the 30 day trial, but I think it will work for me.

Default great!

Hi Zukin,

I'm very glad to join. I already manifested a few nice things and I'm quite good at manifesting little things. But in a few big key areas of my life (where I repetitively failed in the past), I keep on sabotaging myself with doubts and/or impatience. So, I hope I can learn some tools here to avoid my current errors. I really need to improve myself on this one... Like Angela said, it would be great to learn the whole palette of processes and then use them when it's appropriate. Creating a separate thread for each one is a good idea

I'm re-reading A New Beginning right now, writing down the most important ideas, and also writing down what I should concretely do. It's a lot in fact... I'll read Ask And It Is Given after that.

Thank you for doing this! I'm very excited about the project

I am game for this. Will participate. Suggest that all participants exercise a little flexibility and be prepared to modify their approach to each process, to adapt to individual needs / preferences. Will be interesting to see the ideas that different forummers will come up with. Tonight I will put forth the intention for all participants to have a great learning experience out of this exercise; hope you guys will do the same.

I also recently got this book, after working for a booksale, it just kinda popped out at me, and i must say, it is quite a good book. The first exercise i did was the magical creation box, which has already worked for tremendously for me, lastnight, i did the creative workshop, which i am going to soon start seeing benefits from.

lol, you're the second person who thought I was Russian. I guess that's what I get for bringing up a hot Russian girl in another thread. Actually, I was born in America and I'm still living in the USA.

Welcome to the party!

Hello all! I'm new to this forum (actually new in every way as I have never posted anything anywhere before...(no I don't live in a box!) but when I saw this is about Ask & It Is Given, I wanted to join in. I have read this book & it has helped me tremendously in applying the LoA in my life. I was excited to see others interested in it as well. I recently had my first creation box manifestation and I feel like this book is a must-read for anyone interested in LoA. It answered so many questions I have been searching for most of my adult years. Even though I have read the book in it's entirety, every night I'll flip through it & something will "pop" out at me...something I need to become vibrationally aligned. I have been much like Rose of Cairo...sabotaging myself with doubts and/or impatience and most recently my own fears which I found Steve's Manifesting Intentions Without Resistance VERY HELPFUL! Anyway, this book has given me the direction I need. I recently purchased it for my sister & in just talking with her today, she can't put it down! She loves it as well as I'm sure all of you will!

I will say one other thing in using the processes in the book. What may work for one on a certain day may not work for another. I think it will depend on each individual's emotional set-point (as you will read if you're not familiar with that term). Someone may be feeling wonderful in which the process will work easily, whereas another may be lower on the emotional scale & may not even be able to apply that process at that present time. At least that is what I have found in using the processes in my own life.

I'm excited to return here & see the latest developments & hopefully join in again. Best Wishes to all of you!

I am almost in love with the 30 days trials system. It seems so right for me who need those babysteps to a better life that I can sustain in the long run. since I've done nothing for the long run I guess this will work out well, since I am so comitted to it and believe in it so fully 150%...

The thread for Day 2 is now posted here:
http://www.stevepavlina.com/forums/i...te-health.html

One intention that I focused on today was to get noticed for my involvement in a charity.

Several hours later, I got an e-mail from a journalist wanting to interview me for a magazine.

Also, I checked my stock holdings Saturday morning and I learned that I made $750 on Friday ($100 at work and $650 on the stock market).

I should also note that I've had interesting flashes of insight regarding the stock market. For instance, I'll be looking at a company wondering if I should invest in it, and then the next day it will announce a buyout and the stock will jump 40% to 100%

I made $1,200 in two days (on paper) thanks to an investment in a penny stock. I wrote down a price target that I wanted this stock to reach and it is moving towards that target. I have been writing down my goals and visualizing them being achieved for the highest good of all.

Usually this stock is thinly traded. On average, only a few thousand to tens of thousands of shares trade hands each day, but several million shares have traded hands in the past two days.

Of course, this movement could be explained by other market fundamentals, but I find that this is a fun synchronicity and makes me think I could be living in a hologram.

On a note related to my previous post, this reminds me of an interview with a successful trader in the book The New Market Wizards:

Quote:
One of the traders I interviewed, an individual who had made several hundred millions of dollars in trading profits for his firm, felt that the resulting chapter, which contained a lot of copy related to intuition, dreams, Eastern philosophy, and trading anecdotes, presented an image of him that would be viewed askance by corporate clients.

Zukin, it is a good thing that you are drawing attention to the book, but one needs to read the book first to get the most benefit from the processes.
They are specificall designed in a range from 1 to 22 (the scale of emotions).

Wherever one is 'at' in their life with regard to a particular conditon, state or emotion, they are advised to choose the appropriate process/exercise to perform.

If you feel you are doing pretty well, you choose a higher numbered process. If you are feeling down, frustrated, angry or depressed, you choose a higher numbered process. You let your feelings guide you.

In my experience, I have gained mimimal benefit from skimming through excerpts from books in bookshops or on the internet.
I bought 'Ask and it is Given' a few days ago.
Yes, it is a brilliant, inspiring book. It is changing my life for the better. It is also re-confirming what I knew before, but now giving me the tools to forge ahead.

If I hadn't bought it, I wouldn't have paid much attention to it. I overcame a block (resistance) in myself to actually purchase it. I paid the money, investing something of myself in it, i.e., giving something back to the giver. It felt great. I was feeling myself change as soon as I left the bookshop. I couldn't wait to get home and read it.

I am now reading and re-reading it slowly, stopping often to think about it and to let the messages be absorbed and accepted. It is a beautiful book and works on many levels.

Sorry, a little typo there:

If you feel you are doing pretty well, you choose a higher (should be lower, e.g. 1, 2 or 3) numbered process. If you are feeling down, frustrated, angry or depressed, you choose a higher numbered process. You let your feelings guide you."
