Great. "you can be everything you want to be, just turn out yourself into anything you think you could ever be" Queen in Innuendo "just what you want to be, you will be in the end" Moody Blues in Nights in White Satin "there's nothing you can do that can't be done, etc" The Beatles in All You Need Is Love almost any great band has lyrics about it |

| This is an interesting observation. And I think that when the lyrics were written, it was from that creative space where you are just in the zone, and truth is revealed. But I wonder, after the lyrics were written, how long the effect stayed with the writer. Because there are a lot of people who have written things like that, but their realites don't seem to reflect it.... but there are many who probably stayed in that zone too. My favorite subject, music and songwriting. |

This one struck me as interesting... I find myself pondering it's meaning. “I am no longer cursed by poverty because I took possession of my own mind, and that mind has yielded me every material thing I want, and much more than I need. But this power of mind is a universal one, available to the humblest person as it is to the greatest.” - Andrew Carnegie 1835 - 1919 I'd like to understand this power of mind better... Thanks for the quotes

Well, my personal view is that songwriter are "channels", they "receive" the music from "somewhere" (Brian Wilson says the songs are floating in the air). And bring them to this world, in spite they don't know what they mean. It is VERY usual that a songwriter writes some lyrics and he doesn't know at all what they mean, but he doesn't change them. And maybe even years later he realizes. And the funny thing is that sometimes we don't know what they mean either, but somehow we feel it. The Beatles and Queen, for instance believed in theirselves, when there was no reason really, they were sure of their success, to a point people thought they were crazy. The Beatles repeated after every failure "Where are we going? To the toppermost of the poppermost!!!", till they really did. It is the most famous example of the Law of Atraction I know and how I started to thinking about it, before ever hearing about LoA... and I think no-one had written about it yet. The Secret was not a secret... | |

The Goethe quote is misattributed. It isn't from Goethe. It's from W. H. Murray writing about Goethe. For details see: German Myth 12 - The Famous Goethe Quotation

Here are a couple: Q: When did I realize I was God? A: Well, I was praying and I suddenly realized I was talking to myself. If 50 million people believe a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing.

He who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice. - Albert Einstein
