For those who set out a daily time to purposely do your intentions, Where do you do them? Where is your favorite place to do them? Do you do them while exercising with your eyes close? Do you sit and meditate in a quiet place? Do you do them while driving? Also, as a related question, when do you do your daily intentions? Is it in the morning, midday or at the end of the day? I'm very curious because I used to visualize with my eyes close while doing aerobic exercising in the morning. I stopped doing that a few months ago, and now I'm about to do it again, except this time instead of visualizing, I'll be intending. The only problem is that in the meantime, I've started listening to audio books daily while exersizing, and I don’t' want to give up that habit either (of listening to audiobooks). I'm trying to figure out how to add intending and listening to audio books each day without doing 60 minutes of aerobic exersize each day. ps. If another thread answers this question, please let me know. I searched and didn't find one. |

Then I realised that if every thought was an instruction (as Steve says) then every thought better be productive. I couldn't do 2 x 30 min meditates and then spend the rest of the time wondering what the *bleep* was going on. So I find the best place and the best time to build your life is right now. Of course we can't be happy and focused 24/7, we have to be productive also, so I find that every spare moment is a moment to insert a thought about reality, about your life, how you want it to be. If reality, your life is the sum total of your thoughts, then all your thoughts should be in aligment and more importantly, your thoughts right now should be aligned to your goal(s) Don't set aside a time or a place, make that time and place right now. Every night before I sleep. It is usually about a half hour but I dont really have a set duration or anything. Also every sunday I have a certain special place I go to. its a beach actually. Im usually there for about 2 hours - 3hours. this 2 hours comprise of intentions, going over short term and long term goals, looking at how the past week went, and so forth. Usually if I dont get to do my sunday thing my whole week is thrown off. Personally, I cant chew bumblegum and walk at the same time. When Im exercising that is where my mind is. When Im at work Im devoted to work. |

I prefer in bed before sleep. I do use visualizations and intention throughout the day too, but I think before bed is best. When you spend 30 minutes before sleep visualizing, then you peacefully drift off to sleep, your conscious mind (ego) doesn't get a chance to add any negative comments before the intentions/visualization is passed on to the subconscious where it has all night to hold it just as you imagined it. This I think is very beneficial.

Throughout the day. My intentions are like a constant humming that is just under the surface of my consciousness all day every day. When I have a quiet moment, they bubble up to the surface and I give them my full attention.

Yeah, that's the scary part When it comes to mainfesting stuff, size really doesn't matter, size is a perception in our heads, the creative source doesn't understand or discriminate. All the barriers are inside, not outside Max

I think the conflict arises becasue I want change to better my self but on some levels I fear change and find comfort in the way things already are even if its not that great. Quote:

Max Powers, unwiser, torilink, ree, and pc99 - I appreciate the response. I'm going to start soon a 30 day trial where I'll think of my intentions for at least 20 minutes. I'll also think about them at odds times such as when I'm walking down the elevator or walking, but I want to set a definite time for uninterrupted intention feeling/thinking. |

Don't set aside a time to focus/observe/create your new life. It's here right now. Don't think it's somewhere else at some other time when it's convenient, make it real right now. Everyone else is dreaming, wishing, hoping, but not you..........you know it's real right now....don't cheat yourself, you're better than that. Don't think it, know it..........if you're not in control of your life, then someone else is. Max

In my mind, Steve complicates things more than Max. Max has stripped it down to the bare metal and uses only the tools that are necessary. If you want a more involved, more interactive process, you can have it. But it's unnecessary. I like a little voodoo and ritual because it makes life interesting, but at the same time I realize it's only there because I want it to be. |

An excerpt from the The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles- which basically reiterates what Max was saying... "That clear mental picture you must have continually in mind. As the sailor has in mind the port toward which he is sailing the ship, you must keep your face toward it all the time. You must no more lose sight of it than the helmsman loses sight of the compass. It is not necessary to take exercises in concentration, nor to set apart special times for prayer and affirmation, nor to go into the silence, nor to do occult stunts of any kind. Some of these things are well enough, but all you need is to know what you want and to want it badly enough so that it will stay in your thoughts. You must know what you want and be specific and definite. You can never get rich or start the creative power into action by sending out unformed longings and vague desires. Spend as much of your leisure time as you can in contemplating your picture. But no one needs to take exercises to concentrate his mind on a thing which he really wants. It is the things you do not really care about which require effort to fix your attention upon them. And unless you really want to get rich, so that the desire is strong enough to hold your thoughts directed to the purpose as the magnetic pole holds the needle of the compass, it will hardly be worthwhile for you to try to carry out the instructions given in this book. The methods set forth here are for people whose desire for riches is strong enough to overcome mental laziness and the love of ease, and to make them work. The more clear and definite you make your picture then, and the more you dwell upon it, bringing out all its delightful details, the stronger your desire will be. And the stronger your desire, the easier it will be to hold your mind fixed upon the picture of what you want." I don't have anything to add. Mr. Wattles states it brilliantly and even though it applies to money specifically, the process holds true for anything you truly want. |
