I have been working my butt off "literally" to get the size i was in my early 20's. I turned 30 and just kind of blew up (the funny thing is i kept thinking I was going to get fat and guess what, i did) its been a slow process. Those pounds are harder to shed now that i am older. But in 5 months i have managed to loose 8 pounds. Plus now that i have developed muscle again my body has changed shape. I wear the same size clothes but everyone says i look a lot thinner. i ran on the treadmill in bad shoes and gave myself shin splints. i had to quit exercising so they could heal. So for three weeks i didn't exercise and i didn't pay attention to what i ate. But i kept imagining what I wanted to look like. I got an the scale this morning and i way a pound less than when I stopped going to the gym 3 weeks ago. |

Hi.... !! good for you.... How do you feel now? are you regenerated, I feel fantastic, like you I have only lost 10 lbs, but dropped down 2 sizes in clothing, this week my hubby talked me into buying a Tankini ( baithing suit) it is a size 10 lol I have not been a size 10 in 20 yrs!! I am 48 I apperently am responsible for motivating my oldest daughter too... However it is not just the running I had to make changes in my diet as well, (cholesterol) problem... Honestly now my physcial health is matching up with my mental health......... which is so nice !!! Good luck and congratulations......... btw I run in "Saucony" shoes, for me they are fantastic, I sprint run as i have just started running this passed year and now that the weather is nice i have moved from the tread mill to running outside (10 mins straight run / 2 mins walking) I hope to improve, I never really got shin splints, but "calf muscle tightness", this is quite common for beginner runners..... here is a link to check out foot wear Saucony Running Shoes - Buy Saucony Footwear at Road Runner Sports |

Way to go dragonfly183! If you want to lose more weight, I'd recommend giving the slow carb diet a try. It helped me lose 10 pounds in a month. The best part is that one day a week you can eat whatever you want. I've documented my experience on my blog if you're interested.
