Default Before you go to the garage sales!!!!

I do this frequently and it "never" fails. I am a garage sale addict. I like expensive name brand things but i refuse to pay a lot of money for it. There is nothing like the thrill of finding a pair of like new pants that would have cost me 50 dollars for sale for 1 dollar in someones front yard.

Before you leave state to yourself what you are looking for. I need bluejeans that fit comfortable. I need some new summer shoes. I need to not run out of gas before I reach the gas station.

You "WILL" find what you are looking for. Every single time!!!!

It works. A couple of weeks ago I was looking at my vintage treadle sewing machine and thought that I really wanted a vintage chair to go in front of it. That Saturday I wasn't intending on going to a garage sale but when I saw one I knew I had to go in. I found a chair that I thought was a perfect style but the seat was torn, I thought that it would be perfect if it wasn't torn and that I needed 2 - have 2 treadle machines. I went to pay for the chair and the guy said that he had 3 more of them and that 2 of them had untorn seats. Cost me a hefty $4 each and yes the colour is perfect.

Isn't that awesome how that works. Its just to bad that all of the bigger things aren't so easy.

If you're less specific it seems to help in my experience. I managed to pick up an awesome carved coffee table (2" x 6" x 2") with a storage compartment for $3. Almost new condition except for a bit of paint splashed on one corner, which I promptly sanded out and restained to match.

I'm a guy that loves garage sales. This amuses my girlfriend to no end, heh.

I remember about 10 years ago I tried to get mum to give me an old set of travel cups (coloured metal cups in a zip up container), she wouldn't do it. I was determined to get a set of those cups somehow. Not long after I went to a garage sale and they had 2 sets, one had never even been opened.

Ahh, garage sales. Bless the person who came up with that one. I have had so many similar experiences. Makes me want to go check some out this weekend!
