| I love The Secret; but I found this blog entry by Stephane really insightful. -- If we're bashing "The Secret", let's take things up a notch and stir up some controversy... Everyone knows I'm a fan of conspiracy theories, and I truly believe that we are literal slaves to the upper one percent. They are farming us, and we are all sheep. Consumer sheep. Since mass consciousness really is snowballing at this point... The Age Of Aquarius... people are waking up all over the world now... I quit eating sugar, flour, I even bought SPELT and BUFFALO meat! And I'm eating more and more organic foods... I won't be "vegan" any time soon though, I don't believe in it. Humans have been eating meat for thousands of years, now all of a sudden, OVER NIGHT, we're going to stop and eat nothing but raw food? Not healthy. And TOFU?? Don't you think men have been emasculated enough? Now we're going to pump ourselves full of ESTROGEN and grow tits... no thanks.. So anyway, mass consciousness really is evolving quickly right now, and the people who herd us are pissed. So, they do what they can to keep us in line, and "The Secret" is another one of their little tricks. Don't get me wrong, I LIKE, and use, the law of attraction. (But, I'm gonna bash "The Secret" right now, and those people who get offended from this blog post, could I ask you to please leave my poor innocent inbox alone? She's a good little inbox, and has been very good to me over the last few years, and she is tired of all the "unsolicited advice" and has had her fill from all the people who have nothing better to do than to send me 6-page emails to set me straight.) "The Secret" is pure evil. First, look at the cover: black, with some red... DARK. It's a dead giveaway Next, in the opening scenes you see all of these people running around, hiding, killing, etc. and THEN you see the table with all those people sitting around it. THE ILLUMINATI. That's right - the people who "farm" us have kept this information from the masses for as long as they could, but... since we're starting to wake up now, they decided to give us "The Secret". But, there's a catch, a HIDDEN AGENDA (as usual). If you look deeper, "The Secret" is just another brainwashing routine designed to keep us stuck in our HEADS. Like giving a kid who wants to leave his playpen a new toy to distract him from wanting to get out, they are distracting us from opening the Heart Chakra (leaving the playpen/prison confounds of mind-identification) by giving us a new brain toy. So now we all have this new brain toy that we can use to become... BETTER CONSUMERS, of course! Now we are all Grander Sheep... but still goddamn sheep. Our consciousness comes in through the Chakras, and "The Secret" is designed to keep us all mind-identified. Specifically, they want us to remain stuck in the lower 3 Chakras *forever*, and "The Secret" is mostly a Sacral Chakra (ego, number 2) level of consciousness. The trick to enlightenment right now, a least, the next step that humanity is just now getting ready for, is Heart Chakra. When this one opens, WATCH OUT... all other Chakras will also blossom. Those of you who have my Chakra program understand that when you take your consciousness OUT of your mind and move it into the Heart... magic happens. All of a sudden, you know what the ************ you are doing at all times.. you become wise, loving, funny, compassionate, creative, AWESOME with women... "enlightened". But they don't want that, so "The Secret" is designed to keep you stuck in your brain, forever analyzing, forever over-thinking, forever afraid of your own thoughts, forever frustrated (because every thought will ALWAYS generate an antithesis - if you think "I am smart" another voice will ALWAYS go, "No you're not!"), and forever MIND-IDENTIFIED... And forever CONSUMING. "The Secret" shows a guy who learns to get laid, and eventually finds a wife (don't even get me STARTED about marriage!), then a guy who makes a million dollars, and a guy who buys his dream house, and so on. Good Little Consumers living the "american dream" and thinking that STUFF is the way to happiness. So in essense, "The Secret" is designed to keep mass consciousness stuck in the head (mind-identification, ego), which is the source of all problems, AND it's designed to keep us consuming and materialistic. And WHY do you think they called it "THE SECRET"? Why was it HIDDEN for so log, and WHO went through all that trouble to hide this info in the first place? The Illuminati strikes again -Stephane |

| The Secret is Evil??? I thought the devil was!! | the secret of hapiness is ...to feel happy no matter what! when you are so high on a spiritual level and your heart is so light that you feel everything is beautiful and you love everybody and wish them well. there are times when a nice house or a bunch of millions or whatever material stuff won't make you happy. something is missing inside of you. so maybe there is a point, not necessarily a conspiracy! |

| The first part of the post was definitely a joke (and I chuckled), but there is much truth in the second part. I want to be clear: I'm not criticizing the law of attraction, nor am I critizing The Secret. I'm merely pointing out that many pages within the book pander to the shallow consumer lifestyle. This is not a conspiracy, it's just good marketing. If 95% of the target audience is living a consumer lifestyle, the publisher knows it can sell more books by pandering to consumer objectives. This does not mean that the law of attraction is restricted to mindless consumer goals; it means The Secret was written to maximize sales.

| The Secret was definitely produced in a way to increase sale/maximise income for those involved...but I don't have a problem with that. What I think is great is that now the concept of the law of attraction/manifestation is being discovered by the masses. The more people who adopt it into their lifestyles the better if you ask me!

| Well, I thought it was funny ... And I do agree that "The Secret" is targeted at the masses ... I suppose it has its place, and is doing great work opening people up to the power of intention, etc. I personally thought there was nothing new in there - I kept waiting for "the Secret" that I hadn't previously read about. On the downside, "the Secret" leaves out a couple of really significant aspects to manifesting. Such as alignment with our highest path and purpose, and the possibility of negative influences interfering with the energetic frequencies we create, and therefore also attract. Now we have bunches of people out there who think that, if they just think about it enough, the big new house or job or money will magically appear. There's good and there's bad to it. Hopefully it will inspire some to learn more about the Law of Attraction, etc. I personally use the Law of Attraction and manifesting in my business on a monthly basis, and it works flawlessly. Thanks for the giggle!

| Lets face it, if you're going to publicly express opions and make staements then your inbox is definately going to receive responses so accept. Mankind is living in a materialistic world (granted it is man made) so to start with we are going to use 'the secret' to attract what we need on a materialistic level. Once we have achieved that then we find ourselves going further and using 'the secret' for more selfless goals such as saving/improving the earth, further exploring higher consciousness, discovering/inventing/creating mdeical and scientific cures, learning to come more from Love in everything we do, opening up more with our charkras and probably much more. I congratulate you on your comments regarding 'the secret' as it has made us be aware of our primary intentions. This in turn will guide us of our further intentions. I mustn't neglect to mention that there will be those already beyond their material needs and already exploring more advanced worlds and adventures. Regards Michael |

| there is supposedly a realm in the Astral called the Buddhic plane. On this plane of existance every physical desire you can dream of is catered to. This serves as a way to satisfy your material mind. So you can focus on true spirituality so you can pass on to the next realm.

| You could be right about The Secret. I do not possess the knowledge to prove you wrong, nor do I feel like expending the energy to do so. I have not seen The Secret, but I do know what it is about, have a pretty good feeling it is oversimplified, is more ra-ra motivational than anything else, and probably is watered down considerably. And it is completely useless unless you really know what it is you are trying to achieve. If you want to do something, you really have to know why or else there really is no point and it will most likely not lead to happiness anyway. Conspiracy theories have their value in some situations, and I cannot discount this one, but I mean, with less than five corporations controlling the television stations, large corporations buying websites like Google, and everything else that is going on, a lot of these theories mustn't be too far off. But you do not have to subscribe to any of it. If you feel the Secret is evil, then don't watch it. Don't follow its instructions. It's that simple. |

| That was funny! A sense of humour is not a crime after all! I must say, I have read a fair bit of Secret-bashing lately and I am a little concerned. I agree, that it doesn't tell the whole story but I don't think it was for people that were knowledgeable about it, more for novices or people who'd never heard of it. There's no doubt about it, it's a great introduction to LOA and anyone who watches it and then doesn't at some stage want to find out more about it, would not get that far with it. Ultimately, it's a spiritual law and not everyone is comfortable with "spirtual things" so it had to be packaged in a way for mass appeal - what's wrong with that? We live in a capaitalist society and in general people have materialistic tendencies, so capturing their attention needs to be done on their level. However, you will not atract through LOA like that, if you feel you desperately need stuff, you will attract more of the desperation. For me, a strong part of LOA is staying present and being happy with where I am now whilst manifesting for the future. Showing gratitude and appreciation are the keys to manifesting, these are good things. In order to get people to see LOA as believable getting them to manifest something concrete, like a car can help to switch their mindset and start them on a deeper journey of self-discovery. No harm will come to people by being introduced to The Secret and also there's more than meets the eye to the people featured on the DVDs and most if not all are very spiritual people. I have been introduced to some great development tecahers, I'd never heard of before like John DeMartini and Joe Vitale, though it may not come across on the DVD they are very interesting spiritualpersonal development teachers. Sometimes, when people talk of the money made from it, I do wonder if it's people's own self-limiting beliefs about money talking. There's nothing wrong with making good money for a service. The more money you make, the more people you can help. Most of the people involved probably have plenty of money due to long histories of using LOA. Also, as a Reiki Master with both feet firmly on the ground, it's refreshing to be able to speak openly to people about spiritual concepts. People who I don't think I would have been able to before The Secret. Regarding the chakras, I think The Secret is more concerned to the crown chakra (connection to Source, higher consciousness, trust etc) and possibly to the 3rd eye chakra (visualisation) than to the sacral chakra. I see it as a concept linked to the higher chakras. In fact I don't see how when LOA is properly applied it is linked to th ego, yes you create and take responsibility but that's not ego, I see the belief of there being enough for everyone as the opposite of ego. I know the post wasn't serious, I just wanted to add my 2 cents worth! Love, light and abundance x x x

| That was a funny post. It reminded me of Christian school days when things that were evil were always being pointed out to me and of course there was the constant scare tactic of going to hell. That whole the book is black and red so it must be evil thing was sooooo sister Margret!!!!!!! |

| In my country we have a sentence like this. If you always follow the food step of others you will never come upfront. I Think the problem for many or the big task for many is that they dont live it, if you want to be good at Reiki healing you have to live Reiki every day 24/7, it is not enough to live it 9 am - 5 pm. Do you want to manifest you have to practise 24/7 not only some times, we can see people who are good in sport, they live it 24/7 for many years, it is not enough to watch a dvd or join a workshop, you have to do the hard work your self. |
