Ever tried Creative Visualization on a regular basis? How about effects? I started being serious about it a couple of months ago. My two Creative Visualization bibles are: "Creative Visualization" by Shakti Gawain and "Practical Guide to Creative Visualization" by Denning and Phillips. I heard that in order to make this work you need to visualize on a regular basis, if possible twice a day. At present I am practicing different methods of Creative Visualization, but I did not experience any astonishing results so far. I guess it's because I do not visualize regularly and I am not proficient in all these techniques yet. Look forward to hear about your experiences with Creative Visualization!

I'll never forget the firrst time I came into visualization. It was after I had recovered from brain cancer and I was't feeling too good, I bought a book called Creating Power by Kareem Hajee. It was a book about daily affirmations, viasualization, planting a seed of emotional intetnions, and expanding your possibilities. Expanding possibiolites was imagining your ideal way, your ideal goal, and thinking about all the possibilities that are out there in the venue of your goals or intentions. I really became hooked on this way of thinking and it's worked well for me in some situations. But to take a few minutes each day and just visualize what it is you want and what could arise from getting what you want, you really just create it in your mind and send a sign to the universe to make it so. So don't give up visualizing, you'll become proficient enough.

In your post, you said you visualize what you want once or twice per day, but you haven't seen any results yet. Besides visualizing, what do you physically do to help manifest what you want? Do you set daily, weekly and monthly goals to help you get to where you want to be? I too have read the book by Shakti Gawain and I found it really helpful. But I believe the key to visualization with results is to set daily goals that align with what you visualize. Every morning, I visualize what I want and then I create a to-do list of things I can do now which will help bring me closer to achieving my long term goals. Visualization without action is a waste of time, it's nothing but daydreaming. It's great to picture what you want, but if you don't do anything physically to make it so today, you will just go in circles. And even when you do little things daily to bring you closer to your dreams, it will still take a long time for things to really get moving. You gotta have patience and be willing to put in the "sweat equity". Like Steve said, personal growth is really, really, really hard. And that's why so few people improve their lives. So I hope you are setting goals and working on them in addition to visualization

Thanks Alex. Yes, personal growth is really, really hard. I experience it every day, but it only gets me more excited! Actually I started the Goal Setting first, and then I thought it would be good to support my goals somehow, with some "mistic stuff". And that is how I started with creative visualization. I have my long- and short-term golas in written, although I like your technique of setting daily goals. Right now I am not doing it, but I guess its time to start, I really like this idea. Patience is a virtue. I was always lacking in patience, but it seems like I have been learning more and more of it lately... Thanks to all of you! Its great to know that you are out there!

And in other cases, when truly all one is doing is formulating and concentrating on intentions, visualizations, affirmations, prayer, then can it seem like not much is happening? I think intention helps me to recognize what I can do, helps me to recognize opportunities before me, helps me in my self discipline and focused activity as well as thought and feeling about what I want. That, in my opinion, is a big part of how intention works, not the only part but a big part and an important part. It may be that when I think intention alone has made something happen, I'm just not remembering or aware of what else I am doing in that direction. Also, sometimes I really seem to need the intention practice to help to get moving, get disciplined, get organized or have good ideas about what I'd best do to act in concert with my intentions and so allow them to manifest. My 2 cents! Ati
