DVD I/M Game

I play this game with myself, sort of a IM DVD game. My family and I have many favourite movies, many of them from 10-20 years old (when they were made) so if we are talking and a movie title comes up, I decide to let the LoA/IM work to bring it too me.

Titanic and Groundhog Day were two movies we discussed, so I said to myself, 'bring them to me' Now I don't go out of my way to find these movies I don't go to the DVD shop and ask for them, just in my travels I keep an eye out for them.

Practically every store now has dsiplays all over the shop with DVD's for sale, so I just keep an eye out, but don't intensely, actively source them. 10 days or so and nothing, I occasionaly stop by one of the 'for sale tables' in the supermarket and browse, but no Titanic and no GHD.

So I give it more time, but I notice it just isn't happening. So I give up and kind of forget all about it. Then I'm standing in a shopping queue with my groceries and I look over at the display and there they both are on the same small stand!

Some weeks later my daughter needs to get a copy of The Outsiders for a school project, so I do the same thing, intend to have it provided and then wait. Again nothing and nothing for a long time, so she needs it, so I go to buy it and it's $40!! (anniversay special) no, I'm not paying that for a 20 year old movie for a project.

Anyway I'm doing a shopfitting job for a video store and I ask if they have it, yes they say, oh sorry it's in the system, but it's been stolen. So now I'm saying to the universe "Okay, that's not funny" go home and forget about it again.

We go out for dinner, walking past our local video store, I go in and ask for it, assistant tells me it's on hire, will be back on Monday will call you. No call, so I ring and it's come back badly scratched, so in the end another week later, the store rings, yes we have another copy of it, $1 hire and bingo it's in my hands!!

What's the point of the story??

The LoA/IM always works, but sometimes you have to actually do a little more work than normal
