Default moving along my career path

I have been moving very slowly along my career path. I have had a number of pitfalls and while some people say that I am genius, my grades show average. I seem to have a great track record of successfully mentoring others who come after me. Right now, I am just wondering when are the breaks going to happen for me? When am I going to have a good season with positive energy. Just wondering what the meaning of this is.

Sounds to me like you need to start feeling `worthy` about yourself

What do you mean? I think I feel worthy, but I just haven't had a lot of luck on this path.

Sorry I wasn`t attacking you, Im mearly stating you seem to have so much in the way of your education, but you message seemed to say its not enough? Feeling valued about yourself comes from not expecting the best grades the most money the best job, it comes from a sense of satisfaction of peace within, no matter what is outside of you.

We are all on this path and have to work a lot on achieving this sense of peace within.

Good luck

Yeah, I guess you are right. Sometimes I forget that. One of the frustrating things is when you have something in you that your are struggling to find a way to use or get out of you to share with the world. " Feeling valued about yourself comes from not expecting the best grades the most money the best job, it comes from a sense of satisfaction of peace within, no matter what is outside of you." You made a relevant point. That's why I decided to take a step back and focus on the things that I enjoy about me aside from my career like exercising and spending more time with my wife. I always felt guilty not spending enough time with her, but now I made time because I feel like our souls are glued together and dance together when we are together. You are right. I need to focus on the peace within. Thanks a lot.

Hi, DrMDPhD. Welcome to our forum! What are you studying? We may be able to relate better, if you cared to share? I went through a lot of studying, myself, and, in hindsight, there are a few things I would have done differently, with regard to enjoying life in school. Sounds like you have made a partial breakthrough, as it is, by spending more time with your wife. I'm curious about the difference between your being able to manifest better grades for others more than you think you are doing for yourself. What are you studying, and what are the courses that challenge you? Just because it's the LoA, doesn't mean that we can't ask basic questions concerning the subject matter. If you care to share, I'd be interested in hearing more.

I study medicine and medical research. If I get a pass or low pass in a course, when I give people I mentor advice and guidance, they almost always get an Honors. It has been a reoccurring them for the past 7 years now. When I mentor someone even in their tough times, it really helps them. However, I don't see the reciprocal support when I struggle with a situation. There is no one who really goes to distance to help me. They may go up to a point and then disappear.

Personally if you are assisting your students in gaining the levels they are getting, you should be more than proud of yourself, you obviously have a gift of explaining things in a way that they understand.

I understand your frustration though, try to focus on what you have rather than what you haven't got.

There are many things in the world that do not drop onto our lap without any effort. What you need here is a support system for cushion against your struggles. I am have difficulties trying to create mine as well.

An example of a good support system for you is to get a sufficiently large group of friends who have the ability to help you and also have the helping attitude. They are not easy to find; you'll just have to try to find them. Examples of places include forums, blogs, making friends sites, local group meetings, online group meetings, etc.
