Under one school of LoA thought (e.g., Abraham-Hicks and Mike Dooley) the "Universe" brings to us the people, places, things, and events that match our vibrational offering. We are told not to concern ourselves with the "how" of it because the Universe will take care of such matters. Seen in this way, the "Universe" is "out there" and is the graceful agent of change. Under another school of LoA thought (e.g., Hannel and Murphy), the power of our mind or "the world within," through unconscious habituation causes us to manifest our intentions. For Hannel (The Master Key System) and more so for Murphy (The Power of Your Subconscious Mind), there is a greater emphasis placed on getting things past the barrier of our conscious mind into our unconscious mind, than there is on forming an intention and then letting it go. Seen in this way, our unconscious, habituated Minds are the key agent of change. As between the two schools of thought, this second school seems to require that we use "brute force" in taming our unconscious minds, whereas the first school seems to require that we rely on the grace of the Universe. It's tempting to abide by the school of thought that would have us change our unconscious minds because that method seems to put us in more control of our fate, as compared to simply detaching and allowing the Universe to do it's "job" after we form our intention. Accordingly, I try to change my unconscious mind about hidden beliefs that conflict with my manifestations. I do so by examination, logic, and audio affirmations. There is likely no dichotomy between the methods by one school or the other because the LoA can all be explained under a simple theory encompassing both schools of thought as follows: "While forming an intention and then letting it go, to allow the Universe to work its graceful magic by bringing your manifestation to you, you must also take care to ensure that you are not blocking your manifestation with hidden, unconscious, conflicting beliefs. In this regard, you can fix those unconscious, conflicting beliefs by working with the power of your unconscious mind, including by self examination and affirmations." Yet for those who think that "less is more" under the LoA or for those who think that manipulating one's own mind--as a technique to manipulate change under the LoA-- is just overwrought rubbish, do you even bother fussing with such things as your unconscious thoughts, or do you truly just form the intention and then "let it go"? What, if any, benefit can be obtained from training one's unconscious mind? |

Abraham Hicks is not about intentional manifestation. It is about feeling happy in general and then allowing that happiness to crystallize into more specific things. If you listen to Esther, it is absolutely clear that she takes the "the only reason you want X is because you think it will make you feel better" absolutely serious in the sense that her process does not seek to bring the X to you, it simply seeks to release the resistance you create to you feeling happy due to the lack of X. All her talk of "it will come anyway" is just a way to release part of that resistance. NOT RESISTANCE TO THE MANIFESTATION OF X, RESISTANCE TO THE FEELING OF HAPPINESS! Esther/Abraham does not believe the things you want will come when you feel happy, she believes the essence of what you want (which is to be happy) will be achieved once you feel happy (Duh!). |

Your unconcious is one with the Universe or God. God is within you, i.e. your awareness and unconcious is God/Universe, which is yet greater than you. Hence it's your power to manifest, intentionally or unintentionally (unknown to or agains the conscious mind). Thy will be done, the condition for you in the physical form being your belief. Releasing it to the Universe (no questioning) is part of that belief and trust in the power of your own unconscious. Both your conscious and unconscious minds have been conditioned to resist such trust and belief, thus offering counter commands against some of your desires, blocking them from manifesting.

Here is a good example of that clarification from Abraham: Vibrational Essence | |
