Default Trying to Manifest..nothing yet..please help

I have studied "The Secret", "Think and Grow Rich", "The Power", and have written down everything I want. I repeat over and over again all day long of what I want. I watch subliminal videos (images & alpha wave sound) on youtube every single day. I always focus on what I want, and never on what I don't want. I have been doing this consistently every single day for the past 2 months. I see no difference. What am I missing?

You have let go it and be open to receive to . Then it will happen. Do the things that you enjoy doing and good things will start too happen.

Your very thread here may be an exception to your statement, "I always focus on what I want, and never on what I don't want." In any event, notwithstanding your reported impeccability here, I doubt anyone can dissect your technique, intentions, and focus because they are not there. It may prove difficult for anyone to offer an informed answer to your question, "[w]hat am I missing?" However, Mike Dooley, in his book Manifesting Change It Couldn't Be Any Easier, discusses how he got in a terrible car accident, which appeared to be the antithesis of what he intended to manifest. But later he reflected on matters from the perspective of more time having passed and he was glad he got in the car accident. His advice to the reader was words to the effect that, "when you get things you don't want that you have not been thinking about, they are likely a route to getting what you do want. It is the work-in-progress for your intended manifestation." In his case, the car accident turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it forced him off the path of over-socializing and partying, and onto the path of being a more serious-minded follower of spiritual pursuits.

In your case, the "thing" that you are getting that you don't want and you haven't been thinking about is "no thing" (nothing or no results). The LoA is scientific and certain, so it will work for you. There's no telling why it is taking "time." Perhaps 2 months does not afford you the bird's-eye view yet. What have you been seeking to manifest? For example, some of the things I want require, as a necessity, time (e.g., for me to finish my 30-year musical play). As frustrating as this may be for you, more time may be needed for you to "see" your manifestations or their precursors.

I have had some instant or almost instant manifestations and I can say I am in the "vortex" each time. It was all so matter of fact. However, I understand why it takes time, not just because our physical world requires time, but also that it's really very dangerous to have all your wishes fulfilled immediately. It's the proverbial "Be careful what you wish for."

Don't you have wishes that you regret and are grateful they did not manifest? You may curse someone or even yourself at an emotional moment, but do you really want someone or yourself to be hurt, drop dead, disppear, or be swallowed up by the ground? Many people become obsessed with something or someone even though these desires are completely wrong for them and would make them very unhappy. Should an addict have instant access to their abused substances as they dearly wish? People often desire toxic matters and relationships, and most people are not wise enough to realize very undesirable and unintended consequences come with almost every desire which they are just not ready to deal with. Time is a safety net and provide a margin for second thoughts and refinement of desires. What you truly focus on with your conscious and unconscious minds will manifest. The speed of manifestion depends on your true belief and certainty, because the positive and the negative (countering) thoughts cancel out each other. It is hard to get something delivered when you keep changing your orders. True desires will manifest, usually when least expected. My wonderful manifestions always come as total surprises and I have even made it a game with the Universe. I figure every way I can conceive of will be dismissed by the Universe but luckily the Universe has countless ways to deliver what I desire. It awes me every single time.

Luckily too that the Universe sometimes delivers what is really good for you even if you don't know it at the time. The path can be very surprising indeed. Balbrae is so right about that. Be grateful for what you have and where you are for they may be just what you wish for if you don't have them. And they can also be stepping stone to your next desire.

You may do all you've learned to do, but methods and doings don't work when you have unscionscious resistences or if you don't really feel the corresponding emotions. These blocks have to be cleared for you to be able to receive. Waiting and wondering means lack of true belief and faith, countering the manifestation. It does take time for most people to get to the relaxed state of faith being just natural and a default state of mind and emotion. They don't get there in two months. Finding the easy button can be hard work.

Logic and feeling must agree. You gradually must find logical reasons why it can and will happen, agree with them, believe them. You also must feel the possibility of it, the reality of it, "taste" it so to say. After these things happen it would be hard to stop the flow of "coincidences", actions getting you where you want to be.

If what you have tried doesn't work, it's time to change strategy or better even, add to your strategy. You could add this: do each day something that you believe gives you at least 0,0001% chance to win. Here's an example: if you want a million dollars then try to make an extra dollar each day, any way you can. It doesn't really matter much if you succeed or not each day, what matters most is giving it a try each day. Sets in motion your logical side your brain, your creative side your brain, makes you learn new things, convinces your mind and subconscious about the goal you have. If you can make an extra dollar each day, try making 2... or 5... grow gradually, in your own pace. So apply this every day doing to what you want. It can be done, whatever it is you want, even if you have NO IDEA about how it could happen.
If it's love you want, you can search for it each day.
If you want to be famous, you can meet somebody each day.
If you want to lose weight, you can give up 1% of what you eat.
I hope you get the idea, do something, no matter how small and grow from that. It convinces your mind much faster and efficiently about your goal. At least so it seems from what you're saying about this situation. If I'm not right then find something that makes the difference for you. See what you believe, do what you believe, what you feel might work.

You need to detach from the outcome. What this means is you need to be happy and calm irrespective of if and how it comes to pass. Paradoxically by doing this you allow what you want to be present in your life.

It is often when we release the must have or the need - both emotions will send out negative energy - that what we want comes to us.

As long as you feel desperate or that you must have you will repel what you want to attract because what you are magnetising is need and desperation.

Every day take a small action in the direction of your goal, even if you cannot see where it will ultimately get you. Actions create and change the dynamic around you. This will let you see new pathways and open up opportunities.

Be calm, believe it will happen when it is meant to and be certain it will happen in the best possible way. This way may not though be a way that you have already thought of. You may be surprised.

I can only offer suggestions based on what I experience.
Some one above posted that your feelings also have to match. Lately, I've been examining my beliefs and attempting to resolve all conflicts. You can have more beliefs that are more biased to one side of desires than the next.

I am a reading one of seth's books at the moment and here is an example.
You want to lose weight (you feel it will make you prettier and give you self confidence.)
But you may also have the belief that being skinny is unhealthy. Your desire to be healthy may have a higher priority. Maybe you also believe with the weight you will not be pushed around soo easily. Also, you could believe that eating certain foods makes you feel happier.

You may have to examine and release a couple of those latter beliefs before you actually start to lose weight.

You may find that you pick up these beleifs from anywhere. Something you read, music, a conversation with a friend. Though you may agree with them for an instance, you may not agree with them in entirety.

Some great replies in this thread thus far!

To add on to what other's have said, I recommend creating some sort of action plan that you can use that will help move you forever closer to your goal until you, indeed, reach it.

For example, let's say you currently earn $25,000/year and you have an affirmation that states, "I am so happy and grateful that I earn $50,000/year by May 1st, 2012.

If you're continue taking the same actions that you've been taking that have caused you to get $25,000/year, then your results will stay the same.

You see, as well as the Law of Attraction, there's also a Law of Cause and Effect:
  • Effects = Your Results
  • Causes = The Reasons Behind WHY You've Been Getting Those Results

Now, it's your actions that directly influence your results, and it's your thoughts and subconscious programming which often influence your actions.

So in addition to thinking about what you want, you have to take the right actions that will help promote your ideals coming true!

Also, for the Law of Attraction to work, it requires your body's energy to change from its current level of vibration to one that's conducive and in harmony with the possessions and/or experiences you want.

What we're really looking for here is resonance (being in vibrational harmony all the time with what you want), and to do this you must THINK, FEEL, and ACT as if your desires have already come true.

There's a difference between wanting something and being ready to receive it. So open yourself up to the universe and start feeling the gratitude already for having achieved what you want!

Slick, you raise an interesting point. You say, "[y]ou gradually must find logical reasons why it can and will happen, agree with them, believe them. You also must feel the possibility of it, the reality of it, "taste" it so to say." Finding "logical reasons" is a slippery slope. On the one hand, doing so will certainly allow one to "taste" it, as you say. No doubt about it. However, on the other hand, a lot of LoA proponents state that one should not "mess with the cursed hows," which might occur if one needs to sit there all day and figure out "how it will logically happen." I know for me, "finding logical reasons why it can and will happen" is really just a back-door way for my mind to find "logical reasons how it can and will happen." Once I fuss with the "how" of it, I'm pretty much screwed. So I try to avoid doing that, and to just let the Universe take care of the "hows." But you definitely have a point that believing in your outcome and being able to "taste it" is the way to go. I agree.

There are 3598374587384583745374573845 ways to make something real in your head and/or heart. The experience does not come into your life until it is an inner reality. It doesn't matter if you're consciously aware of that inner reality or not. Think about water and oil. They don't normally mix. The experience does not come until it is inner reality.

Thinking daily about how you could do it will have an effect after a few days of absolutely no ideas and no results, it will convince your mind about the fact that you are serious about this goal. It will set in motion some mechanisms that search for the solution.

I thought it was proper to present this way here because it seems this is a typical case of lying to self, not taking self seriously. A way of telling to the Universe "You go ahead and do what you do and then I will come to enjoy the results". But it does not work like that. It's "Here I am, walking in this direction and I need all the help you can give me".

I can think about jumping out the window, I can imagine it, feel it but it will not happen before mySelf starts taking it seriously. There are a lot of levels of consciousness in a human being, each in relationship with each other.
Life is complex but it is also simple. That's because there's all these systems that take care of the complex things. I don't have to think about how to move my lips to speak, I don't have to look at the keyboard to type, I don't have to think about digesting my food and feeding my cells. So yeah, I don't have to think about HOW I will make something happen, there's a part that takes over and finds the solutions for me. But you have to know HOW to use all these systems. The parts taking care of the how cannot be lied to. This is where many of us fail. We try to lie to ourselves and we don't even know it. The simplest way to manifest something is to intend it. If you really intend something then everything else happens, a chain of events explodes and it takes you to your goal. We don't know what intention means, we don't know how to intend, we try to lie. Doesn't work. That first step is not taken. Without a first step, you don't even have a beginning to your journey. No amount of New Age tricks will replace that. Unfortunately, spiritual stuff cannot be explained in a fixed and exact manner because words cannot express well that reality and they are interpreted in various ways, depending on the receiver. But some things can be explained: you need to know what you want, to decide, to believe, to dream, to desire, to try, to feel, to think, to walk in that direction...

Now Dear Reader, forget everything they told you, forget everything I told you and remember what you know in your heart!
