I keep saying this. I keep saying this because there is no end to how impressed I am with this technique, which I will call "Strong-Arming a Clear Mind." Visualize yourself with some pretty buffed out shoulders and arms (biceps, triceps, and forearms). Imagine your daily life: crap just falls onto the "banquet table" of your mind and tries to accumulate. We have to be on guard and vigilant and watch our thoughts! When we get tired or start to become distracted in our daily life, anxious thoughts start to clutter up our minds quite quickly. Then it's time to strong-arm a clear mind! Imagine all the crap (fears, worries, anxieties, unknowns) that suddenly drop into your mind as being clutter on a banquet table at a cheesy picnic. Then take your Mr. Clean/Lara Croft buffed-out arms and place them on one end of the cluttered table. Then just go "swooooosh!" Slide them all the way across the table and clear that junk off! You know how much fun that sounds to do. You know how you have always wanted to ruin a picnic table's feast, like pushing a junker car off a cliff! Admit it! Well, here, in your mind you get to do it. Every day! You get to forcefully swoosh away a table's feast with no regard for where everything lands, and whether things will shatter, spill, splatter, or plop! You get to do this in the flash of a second, with total impunity! This may sound silly, but it's very, very powerful, and it makes you feel like you just left the gym and are all pumped up, when you might otherwise feel gloomy or overwhelmed. Where necessary, I might do this "clearing" exercise many, many, many times a day. One minute I'm fine, and then the next, a negative thought or two will coagulate into six questions and forty-seven worrying outcomes! I swoosh them all away! Off my table! Crash, boom, bam! This may sound odd, but my "mental strong arms" are getting even more buffed and stronger. I'm able to clear more and more crap more quickly with a more commanding swoosh! Before long, I will be clearing off V-8 engines clunking up my table with one fell swoop! We all know that we can clear our mind with meditation, but this is a complementary approach for the waking-state, rough-and-tumble moments. Give it a try, it won't let you down! | That's a great question. One school of thought (Buddhism) claims that our mind is like a river of thoughts that just flows on by forever. That this is the nature of mind, to always be generating thoughts. The theory goes that, while we can watch our thoughts, we cannot stop them--that is the nature of mind. Assuming that the nature of mind described here is correct--that it will always generate thoughts, by default, it is up to us to consciously monitor and direct our thoughts so that we can maintain a high state of vibration and consciously choose what we attract under the LoA. With that having been said, one must make the effort to consciously direct one's thoughts. Otherwise, thoughts can just come from anywhere--worries, doubts, confusion, being tired especially. So that is to what I refer: anxious thoughts that we prefer not to entertain, and for which we were momentarily (or longer) caught off guard and allowed to knock on the door of our minds, by not maintaining vigilance when directing our thoughts. The mind is a river, flowing, flowing, flowing forever. Now, if, by your question, you are asserting that you are always in a state of optimal, conscious-thought direction, such that you are never having to clear away such unwelcome thoughts, then that's fantastic! I commend your development! For me, I find that when my vigilance of positive thinking slips, I have to clear out the distractions and unwelcome thoughts and get back on the horse of higher-thought vibration. When clearing out the thoughts that do not serve my higher good, I use the Strong-Arming-a-Clear-Mind Technique. That is what I was saying in the initial thread, that this technique works wonders! |
