I find myself to be wrapped in the abundance of money. I have 7 million dollars to spend today. I decide to purchase a 4x4 full-size truck. The cost is only $65,999. I need some firewood for my house so I order ten cords for $2,000 delivered. I then go grocery shopping only purchasing the finest of foods. For fun events I decide to purchase myself a brand new 15-passenger limo. I hire an on-call driver and pay an annual salary of $80,000. I arrange to take a trip to New York City in the limo. I invite my parents and sister to come along. I have spent only around $180,000.

I decide today that I am going to take out $5,000,000 in order to buy new homes for current renters. I want to give renters their own place as well as taking the financial burden off of them. When all is said and done I ended up purchasing homes for 50 families.

That leaves me with about a million dollars that I decide to put into savings.

Today I have $4,000,000 to play with. What to do, what to do?

I think I will start by really focusing on what I love and am passionate about, writing. I signed up for all of John Truby's workshops, classes and seminars, and purchased the best software and reference materials. I have rented a home in the Hollywood Hills for six months so I can really immerse myself in my writing. I plan to have it redecorated to really enhance the serenity/creativity vibe. The rent will come to approximately $1,500,000, and I will spend around $500,000 on the redecoration, courses, materials and miscellaneous moving expenses. So that's $2,000,000.

On the weekends and as needed, I will spend time working with a marine-mammal rescue org, CIMWI, that I worked with when I lived out there. But first I will donate $1,000,000 to them and similar organizations in coastal areas, both East and West, and especially in the Gulf of Mexico for efforts to clean up that coastline. And actually, now that I think about it, I would like to give more away. So the remainder will actually go to various earthquake and flood victims in Asia.

I already know and have real happiness, or, rather, joy. It comes from within, and is unaffected by external circumstances. I can't see how having material abundance would change that.

So, $8million today. I'm first going to put $1million of that into the charity trust we set up (and let the charity trust decide where to donate it, though I do have some personal favourites when it comes to charities).

We're buying a helicopter, and my husband is going to get a pilot's licence. Heck, I might, as well, why not? I always love to learn something new, and this old dog is up to try some new tricks.

So, the helicopter we like is around $1million, plus the cost of the lessons and keeping it at the local rural airport (we could keep it on our property, but, meh, the airport isn't that far, and it's got security and fuel and all that, so we'll just pay a fee to house it there). Guess I'll set aside $1.5million for all that.

Which leaves $5.5million. Hmm. Don't know what to do with that. I guess I'll put it into savings with the rest of the interest-earning money.

Today I have $5,000,000 to spend, now we're talking! I think I want a surf and turf vacation, first the turf (skiing), then the surf (islands). There's someone I want to visit in Vail, so I start out by flying to DEN, and renting a car to get into the mountains. I've reserved a villa in Vail for 2 weeks for around $50,000, bought season passes for the slopes and a few other perks for $2000. I bought new ski gear for my guy and me $3000. With dinners and fun for 2 weeks in Vail, plus car, and airfare for our upcoming adventures, I have spent around $1,000,000.

To treat my guy for the holidays (he works at a resort in Vail so a vacation is in order!), I decide to buy a resort in Belize and fly us down to spend Christmas and New Year's, to be joined by all our close family members. The resort is BEAUTIFUL and a steal at $2,750,000. I can't believe how amazing the place is, and I immediately feel at home on the island, and in the company of the beautiful islanders! We spend at amazing 2 weeks snorkeling and surfing, do a dawn dive on the first morning of the new year and surface just in time to see the sunrise. With airfare, gifts, scuba gear and new island wardrobe, I have spent $4,000,000.

My tithing today will go to the Eco-Preservation Society, earmarked specially for work to preserve the hammerhead sharks and other marine life and underwater habitat at Cocos Island, Costa Rica.

All right. $9million today.

$3mlllion into savings/investment.

Hiring some landscapers and other land workers today, to set up proper paddocks and pens on my property. I'd like to give a home to some horses (adopt ones offered by the RSPCA; it's okay if they can't be ridden, etc.), so we need appropriate paddocks. I'd also like to keep some other animals, like goats (just for pets, not to milk or anything), chickens (for the eggs), ducks (for the eggs and to help eat destructive garden creatures like snails and beetles and so on), peacocks (obviously just for pets ), maybe something like a llama or an alpaca (why not? it'd certainly be different!), and maybe even some camels (I like them, what can I say?). So I'll be working with a builder and fence specialist to set that all up. The poultry yard will need to be fox-proof, and we should probably build a pond for the ducks to swim in, plus shelters and possibly stables, etc., and we'll need rain collectors and tanks to ensure a good water supply, and so on.

I don't know how long it'll take to build all this stuff, but it's going to be fun planning it and setting it all in motion.

I'm thinking probably $500,000 for all the secure paddocks and water tanks and custom built sheds and so forth (my purpose in having animal companions is to make sure they have a happy life with all their needs met, so I intend to do that).

I'm going to contact a lawyer in the States and arrange to give my parents $250,000, without actually mentioning me by name. We are estranged, for good reasons. I want to give them a cashier's cheque for the amount stated with a note that says something like, "Any debts, real or imagined, settled in full." The money is to reimburse them for the money they spent to raise me (I moved out when I was seventeen, and adjusting for inflation, etc., $250,000 is generous). What they do with the money, I don't care. I want the feeling of owing them NOTHING, so there will never again be any justification for them to call me "ungrateful". I'm grateful that they fulfilled their legal and societal obligations as parents, and I've got plenty of money to spare, so they can have the money back, and that'll be the end of that.

I'd like to give some money to my husband's family, whom I adore, but they're not the sort of people who take large gifts of money. They just don't. Instead, I'll offer to buy them something nice (and expensive). My husband's parents go on extended overseas holidays every other year or so. I think I'll offer to pay for one such holiday for them. I'll tell them to book it and then let me know how much they need, or I'll set up a credit card and authorise them to use it or something along those lines (I'm sure my accountant can sort something out). I'd be happy to just settle a big lump of money on them, but I really don't think they'd accept it.

I'll also offer to pay for holidays or cars or whatever for my two brothers-in-law. Again, they wouldn't accept a big cash gift, but I think they'd be open to something like a new car or a trip somewhere.

Well, I can't be bothered to count up how much is left. A few million, around $4million I guess. Honestly... that's a lot of money, and I have all this cool stuff (helicopter, classic cars, new cars, a great property and house, working on building my dream house on the property, trust funds for my kids, clothes, furniture, electronics, etc.). I'm giving whatever is left today to charity, and spread it around.

Well, well... hello $6,000,000!

My boyfriend and I flew back to Vail to spend a few more days skiing, but now I'm going back to set things up at the resort. I have decided to make it over into a high-end luxury destination, so I hired the best chef I can think of, whose annual salary is $1,500,000 because he comes so highly recommended.

I remodeled and updated the salon as an Aveda concept salon, and will offer all the best products and services but will do this in as fully environmentally conscious way as possible. I hired the best massage therapists, nail techs and stylists, and provided very comfortable accommodations for them and their families. I have also hired a consultant to research and advise on making the island wind-powered so it is clean and has all good, healthy energy!! I am also using sustainable materials, and it is spendy to import things to the island, also paying fair trade type wages to workers. The remodel, staff, staff housing, plus the consultancy and development of an eco-powered business model has cost around $3,500,000.

Today I'm tithing $1,000,000 again. Today it will go to the animal humane society, with special focus on facility expansion, neutering services, and education/marketing so that more animals are adopted!

Oh, good heavens, $10million today!

I'm tired and there will be plenty more tomorrow, and I'm pretty happy with what I've got going on right now, so I'm going to put $2million in each of the four trust funds for my kids, give $1million to charity, and put the other $1million into savings/investment.

I can see the day coming when most of my income is just given directly to charity. I kind of like that. It's like being a conduit for abundance, like some ancient fertility goddess.

On to $7,000,000. Wow, this is amazing! What to do, what to do? I haven't yet devised a plan for the day, so I need to get thinking!

Ok, the resort has come together, and I am comfortable leaving it in the hands of a very capable management team. Back to Vail! I can't get enough of my guy these days, it's so amazing to be able to spend so much time with him! I think we all know that money can't buy happiness, but it's so amazing to be able to focus on the things that matter, rather than being so self-absorbed and worried about money. I love having so much time to spend with the people I love and doing things to make their lives fuller, easier.

Even though I've asked hundreds of times, he won't give up his work as a ski instructor because he loves it so much. So I decide to invest in property in Vail. Now that I'm independently wealthy and my work (writing) is mobile, I have decided to establish homes in both Minneapolis (to be near my family and friends) and another in Vail to be with my love. After only a few days of looking, I find this place and snatch it up for a mere $3,500,000. We refurbish a few areas and completely furnish it for $500,000.

After a few weeks of feathering our new mountain nest, it's time to go back home to find a place in Mpls. I decide on this place, because it's close to everything I love in Minneapolis, and also central for familial purposes. The house costs $3,000,000 after closing costs, etc. bringing me right to $7,000,000!

I didn't have a chance to spend my millions yesterday so I am combining the two days which gives me a total of $14 million dollars to spend. It sure is a lot of work to spend money. But I am loving each and every second of it.

Although I have already given a couple million to the local animal shelter I would like to donate more. I decide to approach the Board and begin collaboration on an enormous and deluxe animal shelter. This is a no-kill shelter. Because it is so large it is able to bring in animal rescues from all neighboring states. The building itself costs around $5,000,000. It is said to be the nicest shelter in the entire United States. The layout was inspired by the luxurious dog spas & resorts that litter the streets of Los Angeles. There is an enormous indoor and outdoor play area, the kennels are large and filled with blankets and toys, there are two swimming pools for dogs that enjoy water. The facility can easily manage up to 1,000 dogs and 2,000 cats. In addition to the facility I work with the shelter to form an aggressive adoption program that helps to match up dogs with loving owners. I work with the shelter's vet and offer a special program where the owner of an animal receives $500 cash just for bringing their pet in to be spayed/neutered. I hope to drastically cut the overpopulation of dogs and cats.

I have $9,000,000 remaining. I decide to sponsor free dental care. So much of the population in my county cannot afford even the most basic of dental services. I team up with a local, reputable dentist. We decide to offer everyone what we affectionately call The Dental Package. TDP includes x-rays, cleaning, and any other services needed including crowns, dentures, cavities, etc, etc. In less than a year since beginning this project the dentist has provided care for over 8100 people. An enormous number when you think about it. Total cost for the program is approximately $4,000,000.

That leaves me with $5,000,000. It's dwindling fast.

I decide to spend some time helping local small business owners. I spend two weeks observing over 100 small businesses. Of those 100 I select 50 small businesses that I feel are deserving and in need of some serious financial bailout. I end up giving each business $100,000. I give them this money on the condition that they signed a contract stating that this money will be used for business expenses and that they agree to remain open for at least two years more (unless they cannot for financial reasons). In other words I don't want them to take the money and run.

Just another day gone by. Looking forward to tomorrow.

$11million.

I'll throw another $1million in the "dream house" budget (just in case ). I'll put another $4 in my kids' trust funds. And $5 for charity today, because I'm feeling generous and happy and abundant and I want to share that around.

As it happens, I'm going to the opera tonight, and I hate driving in the city, all the hassles with parking, etc., so I'm hiring a limo to take me there and bring me home, but the cost of that is trivial, just pocket change, really.

Everything else for today (should be about $6million) will go into investment/savings.

I now have $30,267,891.

This looks like fun, and challenging.

With $1Million I would quit working and just travel around the world. Go absolutely everywhere and spare no expense on hotels and eat the best food. I would also like to travel as a bum and look as though I do not have money and also live in tree houses in India and be invited to live in someone's home in Turkey, and surprise them at the end of my stay with a cash return for letting me stay.

I would buy an apartment in Xxlendi right by the Ocean, and also visit Brazil as that has been somewhere I've been prompted to go recently.

I would visit sandra in Mexico and travel up through the state to visit several people I met on this forum, going through south america on the way.

I'd buy a forest green Carmen Ghia convertible in Europe to travel around in, and just eat really good food every day and night. I'd give money away to people I liked and to my friends here who could use it, to set them up in better homes that aren't so isolated from the population.

With $2 Million I would buy a prime spot of land, like a couple of acres of Daintree Rainforest land and go to work building an eco "hobbit" home underground, and start up a massive garden or all the berries and peach trees, plums and cherries, oranges, and lemons, fejoiia, figs and avocado, and every veg you can think of.

I pick people I wanted and who were conscious and evolved enough to live on the property as well and have their own homes to make a go of communal living, as I dream it.

I have 9 million dollars to spend today. I decide to pamper myself a bit. I go back to Best Buy and select the highest quality home theater system that they sell. I also book a first class trip to New York City. Complete with posh hotel rooms and a 12 passenger limo. We are in New York for two weeks and during that time we visit all of the major landmarks, experience Time Square, and do some shopping at some high-end boutiques.

I am more than comfortable with the amount of money that I have in savings so I don't add any more today.

I decide to implement a Pay It Forward campaign. Selected people are given $10,000 for themselves and then another $10,000 that they must Pay It Forward. A total of 450 people take part in the program. People have selected to donate the money for a variety of causes. Some help their families. Others their distant relatives. A few have given generous amounts to senior citizens.

All in all it has been a rewarding day.

$12million.

I did go to the opera last night, and was somewhat dismayed by the state of the lovely old theatre. It's had some restoration done, but it really needs a lot more to restore its former glory. It's one of the oldest theatres in the city, and the theatre company that owns it is partly community based, so I'm going to go to the director and offer to fund the restoration. I don't know how much such a thing would cost, and they might lose a season while the work is being done, so I'm going to offer them $5million and see if that's sufficient. Preserving art and architecture is one of my passions, so this seems like a good way to spend some money.

I've decided to buy some land up around Gariwerd (also known a the Grampians National Park). We'll set up a trust on some of it, so that it has to remain undeveloped, and build a holiday house on part of it, because we love that area. So I'll say $2million to do all that, and whatever we don't spend I'll donate to the local Aboriginal centre.

That leaves me with $5million, and I can't think of anything else I want to spend it on today, so off to the charity foundation it goes! I love giving away large amounts of money. I'm generous by nature, and being able to indulge that is amazing.

$8,000,000 today! Quick inquiry though before I start.

I wanted to ask if anyone has had any interesting resistance manifest while they've been doing this exercise? Not so much internal stuff, but have you seen anything interesting in the outer world? I ask because today while I was in my Saturday writing group, a woman shared a blurb of her writing and it was all about how she hated the rich and how it was wrong to spend money when others were going without. I observed it, and felt a little push back/resistance inside, but then just let it flow out. Then during the next break, another woman chimed in how she had liked what the woman had written and went on to discuss her own circumstances (living on disability, limited income, etc.) and they two bantered back and forth for five mins or so.

Again, I felt a little resistance about the conversation, because they were basically talking about exactly what I've been doing- spending gobs of money. I thought this was an interesting projection of the vestiges of beliefs and resistance I might still be holding on to. Anyone else have anything similar happen? I can start a new thread too- I know this is a bit off topic, but I know it happened because I'm expanding, totally a projection of what's still inside. One of those things that's actually kind of creepy because it's exactly what's on your mind. Even though I don't feel like I'm feeling that resistance when I'm doing this exercise every day. I'm having so much fun spending this income!

Anyway, on to the $8,000,000! I can't think of anything I want to buy today. I am back in Vail, enjoying the winter with my guy. He has agreed to cut back his hours so we can spend more time together. We decide to take a roadtrip, which will coincide with an $8,000,000 endowment to our amazing National Parks and National Forest. We plan our route to hit every park on the Western half of the US, and we will head east in the summer, possibly taking some time to hike some of the Appalachian Trail. We stay in cabins and snowshoe and ski and snowmobile during the day, and at night we snuggle in by the fire. It is truly blissful! I love knowing that I have fortified the Park system too.

$13million today. Goodness.

My husband wants to set up a foundation that takes public domain music and transcribes it, then offering it as free-to-use. A lot of small orchestras and theatre companies and so on can't afford to do certain works because the royalties are so high, even though the works are technically free (because the transcription/typesetting can be copyrighted). He wants to do it as Creative Commons, offering the transcribed music in pdf form and print-on-demand, and maybe offer a service where people can request specific works (for a donation fee).

I don't know how much it would cost to set that up, but it would take a good-sized office space and a director, plus various part or full time employees. It would be best set up in the city, near the arts district or the University of Melbourne, so that we could easily hire students. I'd like to buy a building and refurbish it to make it into appropriate office space. So... let's see.... Let's say $6million to start. That's to buy the building, do the renovations, and hire a director.

I'll get my personal assistant to work on finding some appropriate real estate for that.

That leaves us with $7million today. I'm going to put all of that in the charity foundation fund, and because I'm feeling particularly artsy lately, I'll earmark $5million of it to go specifically to the arts. The other $2million can be general funds.

$9,000,000 today.

I woke up feeling so wonderfully blessed. My boyfriend and I are back from our road trip visiting all the amazing National Parks on the western side of the Continental Divide, and are now back in Vail. It's just snowed, the sun is shining in the midst of a bluebird sky. My boyfriend and I go for a quick ski at the resort, come home for a light lunch, then head out for some back country snowshoeing. I'm not sure how he managed it, but when we walk into a clearing about an hour into our hike, my boyfriend has set up a little nest for us to rest at. I'm immediately curious about what he's up to, and sure enough, after the most beautiful declaration of love, devotion and just plain wonderful-ness, he asks me to marry him on this glorious day in the most beautiful of places. I decide to keep it our secret for a few days.

I do start to plan for the wedding however. I contact Monique Lhuillier to have a gown custom made for the big day. I decide on something classic, similar to Grace Kelly's wedding gown. I pay in advance for the gowns of the six women who will be in my wedding, and order six hand-crafted tuxes for the groomsmen from Brioni, $1,500,000. Next, I pay for the most expensive venue I can find in Vail, plus catering, wedding planner, photographer, another $1,000,000. I don't particularly care for the decor of our venue, so I decide to replace everything for our big day, $500,000.

So, we've decided on a venue for the reception, but not for the wedding. Since I have always wanted to be married in nature and on a mountain top, so we will need to figure out transportation. My boyfriend- oops! fiance suggests helicopters, so we buy 2 for the wedding, $2,000,000 for really good, comfortable choppers. We have so much fun trying them out that we decide to keep one at home (makes going to the city so much easier!) and keep a pilot on retainer, $500,000.

I am saving $1,500,000 for further wedding planning. I am also setting up a trust for my boyfriend's family, for $2,000,000 to start.

Wow. What a nice feeling it is to take an extended vacation and not have to rush back to work to make that money.

Today I have decided to work double time to keep up with projected goal amount for a 30 days in a row.
I have spend the $6,000,000 today on an old lovely Spanish farm. Orchards! Old wine vines, castle like buildings, mountains yet sea views.
Le sigh. It was hard to choose between Spain and France.

$7,000,000.
The last bit of propery I put down on.
Most of my choices have been great that this week's money was enough to claim the title. Now I just wait for the closing dates for all, aside from my last choice and my first choice which I got outright and close in a matter of days.
So, I've chosen 3 small shops in the cities closeby which will sell my products from my array of farms. Each location has enough retail space for my items plus any other likeminded enterpenuers, and a residential unit above for my friends and family who will manage the units.

My real estate agent is happy to finally receive the check with the full amount of this week's spending. Fulfilling all loan agreements.

I decided to buy a home in Georgia ($11,500,000) and a home in Arizona ($2,199,000). They're both beautiful in different ways.

Im taking 25,000,000 and saving it.

I now have $14,568,891.

$10,000,000 today.

I think today I'm going to rest. It's been so busy with all the travel and excitement that today I just want some down time to sit on the couch and donate money anonymously. And $10,000,000 is such a benchmark that it just feels right to do it this way.

It's winter now, and I can't help thinking of all those who are without shelter during these long, cold months. I will donate $5,000,000 to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, with a chunk of it earmarked to go toward youth homelessness. $4,000,000 will go to Mental Health America for wellness programming, primarily for programs designed specifically to help the homeless, but also for meditation and yoga programs, early detection, and prescription assistance programs.

With the $1,000,000 I have left, I finally contract a good tax attorney to help me with everything!

Red face

$ 8, 000, 000
Every 8th day will always be a donation.
I wrote a check, to build a better orphanage back home. I plan on making it a $ 5 million building. I've commissioned a high school acquaintance to work with another classmate who has her phd in education and sociology in designing the building.
I set an estimated completely finished deadline at fall next year.
With the other 3 I've established a reserve to cover the cost of moving them to a new location while construction is on going, and all excess will then be used to begin the fund of furnishing the facility.

$9, 000, 000
Ah, with all my properties waiting to close at the end of the month, I can finally kick back and enjoy myself.
First I hire my domestic staff that handles all the properties already established. I plan on having 2 cleaning staff, 1 chef, and 2 landscapers per property. I also put out ads for a personal assistant and a seamstress.
I offer a lucrative base salary of $ 100, 000 with bonus, benefits and overtime. I put 2 mill in the private staff fund.
Next I set up staff for my parents. My mom has a nurse, a chef and a maid. At $ 75, 000 each (as you can see digression ia not cheap). My dad has 2 live in staff who both cook and clean, they rotate days and shifts. I've put $.5 mill in their fund, that should also hair and other part-time staff they need.
And I cannot forget my accounting and law teamam
$ 3 million in staff wow. But I am proud to know I have extremely exceptional staff. Theu get paid more because they are good and suckers for big pictures and small details.

With $5 mill, I just shop. Anything that caught my eye. I got 15 pairs of shoes, la perla underwear, 8 purses, 6 shades, laser eye surgery,7 suits, and lots of tops and jeans.
Of course I got jewelry, but it was all huge chunky semiprecious stones.

Last million. I told my boyfriend he can quit his job, paid off the vw suv, got him a sexy $750, 000 ring and asked him to marry me! Ha! And booked a penthouse luxury home to s tay in while all our property closes.

$14million and I don't have a clue what to do with it.

I'm going to set up a corporation for business interests. I'll get my accountant on that right away. I want to open a perfume boutique, selling niche perfumes, particularly handmade ones, and maybe perfumery supplies. If the business doesn't make money, that's okay, I'll just take it as a writeoff. I'm just very interested in perfumery.

I also want to set up a kind of "new age trinket shop" thing, somewhere out near where I live, because there aren't any good ones. I want to sell incense (possibly hand-made incense if I can find local incense makers), crystals, pashmina shawls and scarves, jewellery, exotic objects, etc. I have some experience with this sort of thing, and I enjoy the area. I think want I really want to do is buy some land and build a sort of "mind body spirit" centre, and rent shop space to maybe a book store and a tea shop and perhaps a yoga studio, maybe a practitioner of aromatherapy or reiki (or both), etc.

So I guess I'll be spending money on land, a shop (in the city for the perfume shop), shop fittings, an architect, and stock, and that'll not only keep me (or my personal assistant ) busy, but I expect to spend... let's set aside $3million for that. It probably won't cost that much to do the initial setup and stocking, etc., but that'll give some leeway and operating room.

I think I need to hire another assistant, one who will oversee my business stuff. So I guess I'll put aside a million (for ten years of salary, bonuses, etc.).

That leaves me with $10million. I guess I'll throw half of that at the charity foundation, and half of that into savings and investments.

Whew. Time for an iced tea, I think.
