I missed a day because of the Thanksgiving holiday. First of all, I have been holding over $18k, $19k, and $20k. That adds up to $57k. I will use that combined $57k for helping my brother pay off his student loan debt. For today, I will put $21k toward an emergency fund. |

Expenses: 240$ for new winter coat. This is real. And it's the first time I spent good money on myself to look really good for the winter. Maybe I should take a pic 28,000$ student loan debt. 3500$ Invisalign braces 3000$ laser eye surgery 40$ Starbucks hahaha Which means I have 13 220$. Plus 48000$ tomorrow. I have a question about this game...I get the idea behind it, but I'm scared of it backfiring. Won't I just get depressed after 30 days seeing the difference between real life and this game? Anyone has any experience with this? Any advice on how to approach the game? Edit: I thought you were supposed to double your amount everyday! Oops. Well I finished this game yesterday (I played in private). It's been very instructive. I found it harder and harder to spend the money! It's also been useful for helping me to identify personal priorities which cause me discomfort and looking at those feelings. I think it is worth playing this game at this level to clear the 'low level' stuff away. If I started playing the £1m game, then all this would be done on day 1 and still half a million to spend! I think I will take all this now as a 'given' and maybe up the game to £100000 rather than £1m for the next month! I think £10000 would be as annoying as this one got towards the end, but not sure my brain is ready to spend £1m a day yet! Anyway, here's my summary. SUMMARY: Total of £465000 'spent'. Fixing things up - eg paying off debt (excl mortgage), getting electrics etc at home repaired, getting kitties excellent health checks etc = £36471.60 Paying off mortgage = £157000 Donations and gifts = £44950 (family, friends, charities) Loans = £27600 (personal plus microloan villagers entrepreneurs scheme) Stuff = £147578.40 (new computer, clothes, property etc - basically stuff I don't need) Luxury operating costs = £1400 (= hiring a cleaner a couple of times, taking a taxi for a week to somewhere I have to go instead of the public bus, taking friends out to a good restaurant) Antarctic Cruise = £50000 - This is something I always wanted to do and have got in my mind to do when my beloved kitties - now 15.5 years old - shuffle off this mortal coil. Last time I looked, a few years ago, you could do one for about £8000 - nearly flipped when I saw this BUT I should say I plan to pay for a friend to come with me and that's included! Am planning to go luxury and also stop off various islands etc along the way as probably the one and only time I would go to the South Americas. Talk about guilt feelings when 47% of Egyptians live on under $1 a day. It's amazing how real those guilt feelings are even though I know this is just a game and I haven't really spent all that money! |

Today I had 7000 to spend and I bought myself a used Subaru Outback wagon. Today was also the day I received my first unexpected bit of money: $5 for one of my CDs. First time someone bought one since I put them up for sale online! Here's to more! |

I will also use days 28 and 29 toward buying a home. I want a home in a decent part of town, with garage parking, good sized yard, finished basement and/or some extra space that can be rented out, such as a studio apartment above the garage or in the basement. I cannot believe that it is almost over. |
