Default Visualization v. Affirmations

Tell me where I am going wrong.

VISUALIZATION
LOA-related visualization occurs where you create a visual image in your mind, preferably of a desired outcome, visualizing it has having already occurred, and visualizing it in rich detail, which sparks great emotional desire (which accelerates manifestation). Visualization should be done briefly (say not more than 5 minutes a day), so you can let it go and let it become activated, and so that you don't wind up projecting fear that it won't come true by constantly visualizing and re-visualizing many times in a day.

AFFIRMATIONS

LOA-related affirmations occur when you repeat a phrase or thought, aiming to: (1) displace negative thoughts from your mind (because two things cannot occupy the same place at the same time); and (2) set vibrations into motion, whereby like attracts like. An affirmation could be anything positive that suggests a desired, finished state, such as "I am the power and presence of God" or "I am in infinite abundance right here right now." However, unlike visualization, you can repeat affirmations a gazillion times a day, whereas you should limit visualization as above stated.

So two questions: (1) do I have that correctly; and (2) why should one limit visualization to, say, 5 minutes per day, but be permitted to go hog-wild on affirmations? I'm sure there is a good explanation.

Thanks for your insights.

I don't think you should limit visualization to 5 mins a day. You can do more and still let it go. Actually letting go is also a skill which can be learnt through practice. And in fact you are mistaken about affirmations as well. Repeating them throughout a day helps but if it doesn't feel good to you and every time you affirm and you remind yourself that you lack the thing you are affirming for then they can be negative as well. Actually the main point is letting go. When you visualize and add as many details as possible you'll take more than five minutes but then after your session is over you'll have to let it go and same with affirmations. To gain maximum benefit from affirmations it is good to repeat them 3-5 times a day. First of all quiet your mind and then repeat them 5 times each affirmation in each session. Then let them go. Don't think about them like how, where, when etc. Just think that you said something you don't remember.

Okay is on a distinguished road
Default Your Own Way

Balbrae,

I think you have to find your own way to do this--whether it's through using the inner Visual sense or using Words hypnotically to make changes. I-M is not a science, to me at least. It's more like an art where the individual finds the way for him/her self to pluck the strings or apply the paint in varying shades.

Try it out different ways, different times, even different combinations...till you find what really feels right - for you. Whichever you do it needs to penetrate, to sink, into your unconscious mind. Feel it sinking. Then let go.
