Red face Help regarding Thank-You method, repetition method and act as if you are method

I have read a book written by Dr. Joseph Murphy and it says about thank-you method is we should be thankful in advance for whatever we want to manifest and it states an example of a woman who had three children. She continued for three months with this method and got a wonderful job which allowed her to get rid of debts and feed her children. What I want to ask is when we are saying thank you, then for how long should we continue? 10 minutes or 30 minutes or 1 hour? How to get into feeling of having that new job (or whatever we want)? Should we go into alpha state and then keep on repeating until the desire gets supplanted into the subconscious mind because at times I think I don't get the feeling of having something while visualizing. So may be repetition can be helpful in that situation because this is also a fact that whatever we keep on repeating throughout the day and even if we don't feel anything about what we are repeating it becomes our second nature and till now I have repeated or thought of my self into a job I dread going to.
Second thing I want to ask is about "act as if" method. If I want a new job I really want then how should I act in my day to day life about that? Should I tell people (obviously when they ask) that I'm working in so and so company (I'm not strict about company) with so and so profile? Should I do things which I'll be required to do at job? Should I resign from my current job because I have new one? What else? And wouldn't it amount to telling a lie that I've so and so job?
Please help me out and thanks a lot for your replies. One thing I'm really grateful for is having such a nice people on this forum who are ready to help you out. Thanks again.

Hi greatmind,

I'm only 18 and am still figuring this out, but I hope I can shed some light on your questions.

I think with the thank-you method, it should also apply to your current situation as it is. Ackowledge all the good and bad, but only be thankful for the good aspects. Steve did mention this in one of his blog posts I think.

From what I hear and read from people in similar situations to yours, you could try saying 'I thank my old job because it is giving me experience for my new job.' or 'I thank the Universe for finding the right job for me'.

About changing the name of the company you tell people, sure, why not, but I think it only works if you truly believe that you are going to be working for this new company. If you don't believe it, it won't work. It's only a lie if you convince yourself that it is one.
