Hey guys, I'd like your help with something. I'm getting quite good at affirming when I want to change who I am (e.g. Affirming that I am valuable, confident, fun, compassionate, etc) I can state these in the present tense and put emotion into them no problem. But I've started to think I'd like some new material possessions too. One being an apple notebook, another being a new bike. The thing is I can't just say "I own a brand new bike" because I don't right now. So what do you guys do to attract material things into your life? Thanks, Colm |

If I really want something, the thoughts and feelings about that thing automatically occur. For example, I have been wanting a grand piano for a while. This is something that enters my mind daily. I often thought how I would love to have the piano, how beautiful it would be in my apartment, how much joy I would derive from it ... etc. Two days I got the call from a nice old lady who is looking for someone to care for her baby grand as it has become too much for her. Free! Wooey!!! |

I've always dreamed of having a grand. Within the last two years this wish settled, but I wasn't sure I could acheive it at such a young age. Within the last year my wish became quite strong, and I got sick of settling for less than what I really want. Within the last 6 months, it became a true desire from the depths of my soul. In the last few weeks my visualisations became more frequent, my desire stronger ... I kept seeing the piano in my room. I saw how the room was decorated, and most of all I felt all the feelings that go along with those visualisations. Imagination is key. |

They gradually increased over time, becoming very strong recently. The moment I started to believe that getting the grand piano was actually possible (as opposed to hoping or just dreaming) is when I got very close, I think. It has to do with believing that you deserve what you want, and that what you want is possible. A mixture of feelings like trust, contentment, desire and happiness, deserving - make it happen. Don't compromise yourself financially to get a thing. |

What a neat discussion this is! And congrats on your Piano, Michelle ! (BTW I fully agree with "Don't compromise yourself financially to get a thing.") I am not sure there has to be such a difference between wanting a bike, an apple computer, a grand piano, another place to live, a fit and healthy body 50 pounds lighter, a wonderful relationship, another way of making a living, a better handle on spiritual consciousness, peace within a home and so on. From one perspective, sure, a person can say-- hey the first things there are "just" material possessions and the last are "more spiritual" so have "higher" value. On the other hand, if we think about how much space there is between atoms Sorry to be long winded here So, Colm...how about thinking about what you would do with your bike and your apple computer ... see, in my mind they are yours already Let us know! |

So...as an experiement...why don't you just try it....and your buddies here at StevePavlina.com will encourage you, support you and of course "check up" to see the progress. Just put it out there. First of all, I'm very interested in this thread because of the commonality it has with my life. First, the piano.....it was mine 2 years ago, and it took me a full year to get the baby grand...but I did! It cost $10,000 and I only had $5,000. I mentioned this to my mom (who is a concert pianist) and she said...Oh, I always wanted to help you with getting one...let's go look!....DANG...why didn't I mention it a year earlier! Next, the mountain-bike, and the road-bike. Those were about 3 and 5 months respectively. Nothing magical about those. I just focused on them everyday and earned the cash myself.....But regardless, they showed up in my life!!! And finally the Apple laptop! It's in my manefestation right now...has been since July. 2 weeks ago my husband asked me if I wanted a laptop for Christmas this year. I just smiled.....he tried to justify it by all this babble about how it would be a work expense etc...and that I "deserved it". YES!!! So my experience. Same as how you've done it with the other things. Here's my current affirmation. Let's see how long it takes.... "I am blessed to have a housekeeper and a gardener. The housekeeper comes every other week and the gardener comes 2 times a week during the spring and summer months. I can afford them because I have been blessed with abundance". GO COLM!!!!! Can't wait to hear about the new Apple!!!! Last edited by annie; 11-08-2006 at 12:42 PM.

I've got some ideas about our sticky thread, the one we're putting our intentions on, just wanted to wait a little while longer and see how this board develops further. Would you consider copying your intention here on that thread as well? (I'm thinking that we can use that thread as a more or less operational thread, experimentally from some perspectives or otherwise...... more later on that!) Thanks a lot...

I have been exposed to intention manifestation and have thought about how one might approach it and my feeling is that one shouldn't merely want something but actually project having something. What I mean is, I don't think it is enough to want things we don't have because it often comes from our lack of something or feelings of inadequacy or envy or not being part of a group. This can, and might, actually defeat your ability to manifest it as you haven't given yourself permission to have it yet. We often don't get things because we don't feel that we truly deserve them. We may say we do but deep in our mind we haven't accepted the fact that we do. My own belief is that we need to train our minds to see ourselves having and doing and feel the emotions of having and doing and, through this focus, we can open the opportunity pathways to receive what we want. This doesn't mean that we wait for a miracle. We may need to take physical actions in order for the manifestation to occur. A MacBook is not just going to materialize from the ether (at least not in my reality). You may want to manifest the financial abundance to buy the computer or it may simply be to manifest the self-permission to buy it. Or simply open yourself up to having it and it will eventually present itself as the opportunity. That being said, I will open myself for you to have it. All the best, Jay |

Thanks for the compliments. I won't lie to you though - I love nice stuff. I get excited about quality, beauty and luxury. Just, as a singer I don't have much money. Having a grand piano is helpful to my life purpose (both my singing and teaching are helpful to the planet in many ways), so it is easier to feel deserving. I haven't figured out yet how to feel deserving of money.

This can't be a coincidence! I've been intending for a MacBook Pro for 2-3 months now, and this thread pops up to help me out. As a student in highschool going to university, I know I deserve a laptop, but finances are not existant on my side. This thread looks like its going to help me out a lot! |

I have to admit I'm sort of disappointed with my ibook, it's had to be sent back about 3 times. Are you really sure you need/want one?

Just be careful you don't manifest a p-p-p-powerbook instead.

You may want to stipulate explicitly that you want one that works. My wife bought a MacBook in July and the one she received wouldn't start up at all. This was a result of a known logic board issue. This happened when the demand for the new MacIntel's was a bit frenzied. With all seriousness though, my own recent intention-manifestation experience has lead me to an abundance of work and contracts. This will undoubtedly translate into a hire or two in the very near future. |

I've been using the Prosperity Game as outlined in Ask and It is Given for the last 6-9 months. I am part of a group blog where we all do it. At first it was hard to imagine the things I wanted in my life, but as the images got clearer, many of things I intended are here. -redesigned closet system (Elfa) that cost only $400, when I expected $1200 -an iPod nano that was gift from my brother -four barstools from IKEA that are comfy and match my cabinets -a new desk that was marked down to $250 from $400 and the day after I bought it, I got an unexpected $200 bonus. So really, it cost me $50. -a professional Kitchen Aid mixer as a gift The list goes on and on and along the way, I've attracted money, freebies, and wonderful experiences. Try the Prosperity Game. Or try collaging--very, very powerful. Enjoy the experience and always thank the Universe for small and big prosperities. |

Do the following: Cut out an ad with your desired Apple notebook. Pin it on a board (dream board), so you have it right in front of you. Imagine that you are working with your new notebook. Feel how it feels to own it and work with it. Use your imagination to make this experience as real as possible. Go into an Apple store - play with it, talk to people about it that you soon will have one. Or use the 'Dream Manifestation Wizard' my company has developed. May all your dreams come true... I think that manifestation is different for everyone. For me, it seems like my thoughts manifest very quickly if I believe it well enough. I think it might have to do with me operating with a higher amplitude (more energy, essentially) because my mom (a medium) tells me I generally seem to have a lot of energy (spiritually). I don't know what the case is for you, but try to have no doubts about what you want make it ABSOLUTELY clear of what you want to have and then act from it |

| In order to manifest anything you must experience stillness. Stillness is a necessary requirement in order to get in touch with that which is unmanifest. Once a place of stillness has been reached intentions can then be introduced into this field of potentiality.

This whole process is different for everyone, and why shouldn't it be? And I agree that stillness is huge, in my opinion. We are talking about intention-manifestation here. The difference is not much, in my opinion, between this practice and the practice of prayer, chanting, meditation, drumming and probably most sorts of sincere attempts which human beings develop with the intent to come closer to the greater good inside us, around us, in reality, in the oneness of all... The process has to develop as one's own, and stillness--the stopping of internal chatter is essential, in my opinion... best!

Before you go to sleep imagine your notebook, imagine having enough money in your account, imagine going to the store and buying it, imagine exactly what it looks like, imagine working on it, touching it. And then say " Thank you for this apple notebook that is helping me in my life" and then, let go. know that it is yours, have certanty. This tool has worked for me many times |

Thanks for all the feedback. I've started believing an Apple MacBook is mine and I've put in my order to the universe. I'm checking out Apple's site daily and going through the motions of buying one each day, getting the excitement I'll feel of playing with my new toy. I also really like the thoughts of what I'll do with my MacBook, I think that will really help. Can someone explain stillness? That I don't get. This is all part of a larger process I'm going through. If everything in my life is my creation, I want to see how far I can push things. I've created the reality where money isn't an issue for me, I'm secure in my financial future. Now I'm creating one where I'm quite wealthy (just back from a trip to Milan where I was shopping in Armani) which I couldn't conceive a few months ago. I started thinking that there are certain people who just get things all the time. Movie stars have companies give them cars and clothes for free, so I started to think whether one could create that reality consciously... Colm |

Stillness for me is emptying my mind of thoughts while I focus all my self on something beautiful. It's meditation. When a thought comes 'round, I let it go and keep my focus. With practice, the thoughts just wait until I'm finished to come 'round again.

in my intentions, i am thinking a lot about what steve posted on his blog about goals -- how do your goals make you feel in the here and now? so i am concentrating on feeling how what i am asking for will make me feel, if that makes any sense. for instance, i am currently working on a software implementation that could be described as extremely hairy. i have had a few wig-outs, but mostly i am feeling relaxed and calm because i've already gotten to the place where i feel as though the implementation is successful. and, of course, that level of calmness is helping me remain clear and focused on what i need to do to make everything work out. so i guess i'm saying, for me, it's emotional. i can imagine the feelings surrounding getting what i want with enormous clarity, so much so that it brings me into those feelings right now, which helps me get to where i want to go. hmm, now i want a grand piano too!!! |

A good description of the stillness idea can be found in the first chapter of Deepak Chopra's The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. The idea is basically that a ripple introduced into a 'restless' lake will not be noticed, yet even the faintest ripple will be apparent on a glass-still lake. Our thoughts are the ripples in the lake of our mind, and the more we still the undesired ones the more clearly and easily the desired ones will come through. |

Just to let you all know my MacBook arrived yesterday, it's swanky! Now my big "problem" is figuring out how to navigate a Mac OS! Thanks universe, and thanks to everyone here who wished me well. Creating an ever abundant reality, Colm |
