Manifestation of the Rep

On the 3rd of April, i was reading on these here forums i wondered what these little green things were under someone’s name. As it goes, the answer sort of just appeared in some of the posts I read and this was when i was introduced to 'rep'.

I have been here for several months, and it was interesting I’d never heard of it or understood. I began to notice all the rep under everyone’s name and i payed a lot of attention to these posts. For some reason, the number of green squares made their posts stand out. And I looked at my rep lol! i had only one square. Geeez!

So i sat and i said " Well i've been here a while, i wouldn't mind some rep now". And i pondered that. What can i do to secure myself rep?

The answer i received was instantaneous and simple. Love.

Cool huh?

So how do i give love to those who are on these forums? Do i say it in posts and ask for rep? " Hello! Hello! i'm a bit desperate for rep! i'll love you forever if you rep me!"

I decided no. That would not do.

So after some thinking it came to me. I changed my belief about rep. Rep went from meaning this sort of higher status or authority figure to meaning how much love you have for others.

So i went with this. I sent everybody rep. I sent it with love. I loved everyone i repped and i generally said that when i repped them lol! " Here, rep is abundant, have this, i love you!"

The next day, i woke up and i had this awesome idea. I would make everyone conscious that i was repping out of love. And i made a thread about it at fun and rec. Everyone who commented got rep, no conditions, no "if's" or "but's". I made no comment that i was asking for rep in the slightest. Just that i was sending.

it is day 16. I have gone up 5 rep points from just a singular green square. I have attracted great friends, very loving people. And even now i still rep and say i love you.

I know in the scheme of things that manifesting rep isn't important to live a good life. I merely wished to show that whatever you put your mind to, you and the universe can achieve it. Even something as simple as rep.

I saw this forum as big book filled with disclosed secrets and it is written by everyone. I love everyone and i am working with them. In return they encourage me and give me rep.

My rep is a mark of love for this forum people.

Well, the one thing that the 'free rep' threads taught me is that people genuinely appreciate it if you take the time to say something nice (so long as it is sincere). Even if it something as simple as 'I really like your avatar, it makes me smile every time I see it'. In the past, I didn't bother doing this as I assumed that it wouldn't mean that much to people. But I was wrong.

It will be interesting to see if my increased willingness to pass along a friendly comment on these forums will transfer over into my 'real life' relations.

I've seen a big jump in reps, but it's not so often I get as many as others. Maybe someone could give me a little rep...I've given it pretty liberally to some people at times...

Im not a big follower of the bible, but that's a wonderful quote and i think i utilised it well in this scenario guess what?

Wow, this is a much better idea for spreading the love. Since I've starting participating in this forum, I've felt like I'm starting to get to know great people here. So much love and wisdom. Thanks for sharing how to spread the love around.
