Default Money coming from all over after 27 days of 2 mantras

This thread could of gone in a few forums but I am going to write about my experience here...

2 years ago I did 45 days of Ganesh mantra
90 days of Mahalaksmi manta

got my dream job offer, still at this job happy

started the 2 mantras 27 days ago - Ganesh in the morning and Mahalaksmi in the evening and money is coming from all over....

I love it!

I am doing YouTube - Mahalakshmi (Laxmi) Mantra & Shri Yantra - Wealth Giving

I think it is the combination... Ganesh takes care of the obstacles and Mahalaksmi takes care of the money!

Ask as many as you like, I do 108 but play the Mahalakshmy at 1.4 normal speed so it takes me about 30 min. instead of 40.

I thought you just affirmed it, so you repeat it while listening to it. Which ganesh video/mantra are you using.

And one more think I downloaded both mantras from YouTube with Zamzar - Free online file conversion and then edited them with Sony Soundforge - both to be 108 repetitions and then I can play then any speed I like with Windows Media Player.

Congratulations. I have taken the opposite road and completely stopped caring about money. I have also been getting random money in ways I would have never predicted as little as 2 months ago.

Glad for you! I am a banker so it is pretty difficult to turn around on the money mode but I am not too attached to it.

I just want to drop in and say that, uhh, be careful. If you don't pronounce the words correctly, things can go wrong (I heard about a woman who had a CD of chants that she got in India, and she chanted along to it in her car, and completely lost her voice because she wasn't saying it right -- it took months to get sorted). It makes sense to me that if they have the power to change things when said correctly, saying them incorrectly could... change things... in a way you don't want. Make sure you have all the words right. Or better yet, go to a priest or a yogi and have them teach you.

Where did you hear about this woman? You personally knew her or know someone who knew her? Or is this "one of those stories"?

I'm asking because I'd assume that using the right words isn't nearly as important as putting the right energy and thoughts behind it...

Ganesh is wonderful at removing obstacles as Marinik says. I ran across information that's been tested that if you carry a small statue of Ganesh in your suitcase when you travel, all obstacles will be removed and things will just flow smoothly. Sounds like a great idea to get through airports really quick!

Hummm... I know somebody who knows the person who worked with her to get her voice back.

I respectfully disagree. Of course intent matters, but mantras aren't affirmations. They come from a long tradition of intense spiritual wisdom and training. Each sound has a vibration (I listened to the Lakshmi mantra that marinik posted, that is a seed mantra -- the "aum hreem shreem kreem" stuff...) which influences energy, in and of itself, regardless of intent. To put it in modern new age speak, you're accessing a resonance field that has thousands of years and millions of people's belief behind it. I'm not saying don't do it, just saying be careful.

And since I can't resist: phenomenal cosmic powaaahh!! ... itty bitty living space.

Also, I had a statue of Ganesh in my room for my entire life until I moved to college. He was my favorite!! When my grandma told me stories about him, she called him Pullayar because that's his Tamil name. I don't know if it affected my life but I liked it. Maybe I should find it again.

Ok, I know absolutely nothing about it, the only thing I know somewhat about is LOA, which I know works more with vibration and less with specific words....

so in that sense would you recommend doing it in your head? Less likely to make mistakes if you just do it in your head.... right?

I can't really recommend anything, I'm not a guru or a priest. I don't know how many Indians there are in Mexico but I would try to find a Hindu temple or an ashram or something, and see if someone can teach you how to pronounce the words, and tell you what each one means/does. Or, if you're confident that you can listen to the tracks and really work on the pronunciation, and not just sort of pattern match it into your own language (I think a lot of Americans hear foreign words and approximate the sounds rather than imitating -- I don't know how much this phenomenon extends to other cultures), you could try it. I doubt that an accent is such a big deal, more like a true mispronunciation, if that makes sense. The woman I heard about was just sort of "singing along" to the tape and not trying to use the mantra for anything, if I remember correctly, so she probably was doing that thing where you learn a song in a foreign language and just make up what you think they're saying. But I'd still want to check with someone who knew what they were talking about better than I do.

Interesting, im taking much more interest in the things that are showing up.

Things are suggestions and metaphors. I will follow these mantras aswell, interesting magical experiment.

Thank you Marinik, blessings of love and light

They certainly arent affirmations are they.

They do have a very obvious vibrational resonance to them. Even after a few minutes of repetitions I could feel the resonance.

Interesting. First Angels, now Mantras. I have so much yet to learn. Tis exciting.

@Criseyde - you sound like you've brushed up on the subject, so I must ask - what can you tell me about Om Namah Shivaya? Also, are you saying that I was mistaken in having used it silently?

Ooh! I just noticed you posted at 5:55, you imp!

They do. Aum is very safe/easy to chant, but it's not "ohm" (like the unit of electricity). Make sure you pronounce every syllable, "ahhh" "uuu" "mmm." Those are the three sounds you can make without using your tongue, just by starting with your mouth open and slowly closing it.

I haven't brushed up lately. I was raised Hindu, and I went to the Hindu version of Sunday school for a long time. We didn't do a lot of mantras... maybe because it was parent run and they didn't want us messing around with it too much. I did learn a few and Om Namah Shivaya was one of them (the others were the Gayatri mantra and Om Namo Narayana). I was taught that it means something like "I bow to Lord Shiva" (or, "I prostrate myself before Lord Shiva"). Honestly, Wikipedia can probably tell you more than I can...

Also, you must be in my time zone.

I did a fair bit of reading about it after learning of its connection to Pancha(k)/5 (did we ever talk about that? ). Since it seems to be, in a sense, a prayer to ones Higher/Expanded Self, learning this made me more comfortable trying it.

So - out loud, silently, both, or you just don't know?

Also, you must be in my time zone.
Either that or I'd reach you by digging through the Earth! Pleased to (re?)meet you!

I don't think we did. Are you talking about Panchakarma?

Okay, to preface this, so you don't think I'm an expert when I'm definitely not: my temple is a Vedic, Vishnu (as Venkateshwara) temple, not a Shiva temple. Shiva is also uber-important in Tantric traditions, and it seems to me like Tantric traditions are what the West has picked up on, more than Vedic ones. So I'm not quite the best person to be trying to expound upon this.

I am always a little bit skeptical about the claim that Om Namah Shivaya is a prayer to your expanded self because I feel like that came from the same crunchy new thought spirituality as Eat, Pray, Love. Don't get me wrong, I am okay with new thought spirituality in itself, but I automatically question it when people try to shoehorn longstanding traditions into it. I guess it depends on how you define "expanded self." I don't automatically disagree -- but it is sort of like saying that the greeting "Namaste" isn't religious at all. "Namaste" means "I bow to the Lord/God within you." So... it's not specifically Hindu*, but it's definitely not areligious. Why would you bow to the God in someone else if you aren't interested in God? Just like that -- how can Om Namah Shivaya be about something other than Lord Shiva?

Here's how I learned it:

Brahma is the creator, Vishnu is the preserver, and Shiva is the destroyer. When you call upon Shiva, you are asking to be purified. You're asking to be scoured. Even his dancing (as Nataraja) is associated with the destruction of the world. But that's not to say he isn't benevolent. He is, he just... hrrngh... he'll give you what you need, not what you want. Om Namah Shivaya is powerful but it depends on what you are trying to get out of it. The road could get pretty rocky if you aren't looking for that kind of soul cleansing. I always thought of it as worship. If you adore God, if that is your highest goal, pray this mantra.

*but then, neither is Hinduism. Before they needed to differentiate it from other religions, it was just called sanatana dharma -- "the eternal law." There is no word for "religion" in Sanskrit, just "dharma," which means law or duty.

I would say it out loud but I'm about 99% certain I'm saying it correctly.
