Thumbs up Ask and It is Given - Magic Box Exercise

I really want to let everyone know that they should check out the Esther and Jerry Hicks, Abraham book, Ask and It is Given if they really want to get clued in on Law of Attraction. This book gives you such a great understanding of the process of LOA, and how to move away from self limiting beliefs and thought habits which are detrimental to your succuss of manifesting what you desire in your life.

The greatest part of the book is that comes with over 20 Exercises you can do to make your vibrational energy stronger. It encourages you to pick whichever appeals to you the most at the present time and do it. The one which appealed to me the most was the Magic Box. What you do in this exercise is you find an attractive and appealing box, and on the lid of the box write "Whatever is contained in this box - IS". Then you flip through magazines and cut out things which you desire. Wether it is pictures of beautiful sunrises, natural settings, a city you love etc. or simply words representing what you would like to achieve in your life... Anything that catches your eye. The idea is, you get into a relaxing and optimistic state and simply look for these things cut them out and place them inside the box. As you place them inside the box, you say out loud: "Whatever is contained in this box - IS"

After deciding to do this exercise, I immediately found scissors, and 3-4 magazines lying around the house. Then I made it my intention to find a suitable box. I walked into my basement and glanced around the room, then walked a little further in and on a bookshelf to my left, I saw a box. It was perfect. It is a little bigger than a shoebox, and it's made out of a very solid looking wood of a tan color. It is carved so that pictures are inset on the surface of the box. On one side, there are two people in what looks like a ship. They are huddled together. On the other sides, there are drawing of boxes, similair to the box itself. Inside the boxes, are what appears to be mountains. Outside the boxes, little flowing wavy lines seem to be spiraling away from the box. As if to represent energy leaving the box. At this point, I was smiling at the obvious metaphor for LOA. The next day I asked my parents where they got the box, and was told my father got them doing missionary work in the Phillipines, at a street market.

As I clipped the things I wanted, put them in the box and said the magic words, I felt a sense of joy and fun. It felt to me like I really would recieve all that I desired. I will update with the results. I will also update with pictures of the box when I get my hands on a digital camera.

I love those "processes" too, Jonathan. My special favorite is the Rampage of Appreciation -- very much fun!

I see you're new around here -- there are a LOT of people who have posted on the subject of the Hicks' and their books. Check 'em out!

Lots of love,
Angela

I like that one as well, only I modified it into making a collage. The funny thing is that I was doing desire collages months before I saw The Secret and "visions boards."

Default the advange of the box

I think the box has an advantage because you affirm and give energy to each desire one by one and then you drop it into the box and allow the universe to take care of it, by closing the box and not being reminded of these desires. I think a lot of the problem people have with manifestation is that they think about the primary dreams for their life goals so much that they ignore the little things, which may actually be key to achieving the goals in their life.

I think of it as, your the ceo of your experience, and you must delegate the universe to do the things which you can not put all your time and energy into, while focusing on the bigger picture with your concious mind. Then your workers can come to you with ideas and results.

Actually, I keep having to make new collages because I keep getting everything I put on there. I don't sit and concentrate on them at all, they just hang in my room among my various movie posters and mythical creature paintings.More artworkt hen anything else. I have made three thus far, collage #1 and #2, every goal on there is manifested. College #3 has now...four things left. I think its time to start #4 now!

Red face Sounds good, but a few questions

Hi there,
Your idea sounds good, would I have a difficult time because I couldn't actually see the images? I'd be imagining them.. in the box. Does that in itself help with the visualization you think? It would make sense as one could get stuck on the imaging part as with the dream board method.
I use dream boards, and oddly enough some have manisfested, but not in the way I expected. It is almost like I'm not in the picture or something. I am looking from the outside and in, as though I'm not in the story. Therefore, this box idea could work.
Felix, you say you don't look at the dreamboards, per se. But when you do, what do you think/feel? Do you constantly carry the images around and then sort of connect them to your everyday experiences? Do you include an image of yourself in the picture? Any help would be appreciated.

The advantage is that you dont see the images. It's sort of like the "wouldnt it be nice if...." exercise. Sometimes when you spend all your time thinking about something, even though you might conciously be thinking "I want this" your subconcious might be worrying about not having it, or not being able to get it so in turn, you arent able to get it

I think you have to approach manifestation on multiple levels. On one level, be obsessed with your dreams and your main goals in life, so as to motivate yourself to action. On the other level, simply write down a list of all your desires and things you see no way of taking immediate action toward, and let the universe take care of them. As you work on your main goals in life, you will more than likely enable yourself to take care of your other desires, and vice verse, as your desires are taken care of by the universe your main goals become easier to achieve and easier to believe in, which is really what it is all about.

Convincing yourself that you can do it and acting congruently with that realization is much harder than it would seem. You sure as hell can say to yourself "im gonna make it" but thats not the same as really truly believing it and working towards doing the things someone who is living the dream would be doing.
