This is the closest I got.. bare in mind this is not definitive truth.. (meaning article feels a little slanted/negative not necessarily objective) and of course if you’re into the whole abraham thing may cause you to doubt.. but since I come from a scientific background (proven physical truths) I do this to myself really only as a check and balance to make sure I don't jump into the deep end without looking first..

Thanks for the information. I read it all with great interest. It confirms what I have decided for myself with regard to all "teachings", try it for yourself but always and I mean always keep hold of your own sense of logic, reason and guidance. Being brainwashed by anything is bad news. Brainwashing happens when we substitute someone elses mind for our own.

I've never once read in any Abraham material or on their CDs that you should remove yourself from anyone who doesn't believe in those principles. If you understand that no-one else can create in your reality then there is no need to do that.

I've read and utilized Wayne Dyer's work for years. If I had skepticism about something and discovered Wayne considered it useful I would approach the event with an open mind.

I agree with healthymind. At first I didn't want to read the material because I had trouble buying into the channeling thing. However, if you can get past that (I eventually did and read it anyway) and apply the teachings and they work for you, then the source becomes irrelevant. I don't think they are frauds, if Esther is not channeling I think she believes she is, but even that is of no relevance if what she's saying works for you and produces good results in your life. So try for yourself. I've had wonderful results in my life with the teachings and personally know other people who got the same kinds of results. I don't care whether it's channeled or not. And I don't care that I paid for the books either, the information has been of great value no matter where it came from.

People don't normally realise it, but even in Napoleon Hill's classic work "Think and Grow Rich" (which is much older than the Hicks' work in LOA) there is already a form of channelling described therein.

Refer to Napoleon talking to his "counsellors" in his mental "conference room". Napoleon is already having long, detailed conversations with all nine or ten of them.

Now, imagine if Napoleon could access his "counsellors" while talking to an external real person, eg you. Napoleon hears you ask a question, and Napoleon instantly tells you what his "counsellors" have got to say to you in response.

That's already channelling. Or something very close.

Don't get caught up with "reality". Is she "really" channeling? Who cares? Maybe she's delusional. What does it really matter. If it's "really" Abraham, you'll believe??
Just try it out for yourself and see. If it works for you, "believe" it. If it doesn't don't and move on.

Did Christ "really" raise up the third day? Was Mary "really" a virgin? Did the Buddha "really" have lotus petals spring up in his steps? Who cares.

I used to do some channeling years ago and I can tell you that it's all a big act and find Esthers voice soooooo of putting and rehursed channelled I had stop listening to the CD.

However saying all that i do agree will all what they say. It's just OTT

Now, if I want to listen to any guru stuff I choose Wayne Dyer. He is such a cool dude.

I did see Esther in 1998 and was somewhat impress. I find the books a lot more exciting--but I think I was getting bored with other people's problems and hoped for more of a lecture setting.

It is more important to me what the actual message is, not where the message comes from... (if it was a monkey that spoke to me and said "You should love people more" does this mean that I should not love more since the message came from a speaking monkey?) [by the way I've never heard a monkey speak] ... after all God works in mysterious ways.

Sometimes the best help in my life comes from the most unlikely of sources...
